The things you find on the internet are unlimited, and now they include this wicked tattoo sleeve for your cat!
Unlike dogs, cats are known to always do what they want to do regardless of whether it pleases their human. This explains why cats are always thought to be more of a badass, while dogs are the cute babies. If you're the kind who thinks your cat is a badass but you wish there were accessories to enhance said badassery, then there's good news for you. Airie McCready runs Etsy shop SimplySphynx, where you can get a lot of accessories for your pets.
One good look at the website and we'll see that among other things, we have tattoo sleeves for cats to give them a whole "thug" look. Of course, you don't put your baby through pain or anything. These are just tops you can slip on them and it matches their flesh tone, so it seems like they have a tattoo when you see them from afar. I can honestly only think of one thing: biker dudes.
The sleeves are known as Tattcat tops and they come in a wide variety of designs. The tops are priced from $22, which really is a small cost to pay for something that will make your cat look hella adorable and tough at the same time. This is surely something that's going to turn a lot of heads the next time your cat is out for a stroll and is the perfect tool for you to up your Instagram game.
Designer Airie told Metro, "The idea came to me when a friend showed me a silly fake tattoo sleeve and teased me how I did not have to get ink, I could have gotten one of these (I have a lot of tattoos). I grabbed it from him and thought, 'If only I knew how to sew...'" But she wasn't one to give up, not without a fight. "It took a long time, but I figured out how to do it, it’s really delicate fabric."
She then explained that she had to think of animal-friendly products. So, she had to try till she found a seller that offers prints with non-toxic ink and now, she uses a material that is safe for the kitties too. "Everything in my shop is made by myself or a contracted seamstress and I oversee each item," she added. Her products have slowly been gaining recognition, and Airie couldn't be happier about it.
"Two years ago at the Westminster Kennel Club, they had a “meet the cats” event and even had the cats do an agility course. Misha, a Sphynx, wearing one of my Tattcat shirts won!" Also, she's a complete cat mother! ‘" have many sleeves for my own six cats, three Sphynxes, and three Devon Rexes," she said. Hey, you take the inspiration from wherever you get it. After all, this was a hit! A home "stretch" I might add!
As always, there were a LOT of people who assumed putting a top with a print on it counted as animal abuse. Chris Jorge commented: Oh my god how could you do this to a defenseless poor kitten. YOU MONSTERS !!! Graham Dalton added: Let cats be cats why the bloody hell would you want to do that to the poor thing!! Meanwhile, Charlotte Flegg wrote: FYI for people who don’t read: THIS IS CLOTHING FOR CATS! 100% FREE FROM “Animal Abuse/Cruelty”. Not usually a fan of clothing for animals but this is quite a cute idea for Sphinx/Rex Cats or just Cats that don’t have a great amount of fur and can get chilly quickly.
Heather Nethery Rich posted: Literally do not understand the angry people. It's a sweater. Sphynx cats can get chilly, and if they will tolerate a sweater I really don't see the problem. I do, however, see ignorance. Also, Jamie Enge, WHAT? He commented: Wait you can buy these? I straight up tattooed my cat so he would look badass. This would have been much cheaper. Hoping to God that this man is joking about this now. Greta Fader added: I think these are awesome! They're just pure fun and not hurting the kitties at all! I like this idea! for those who think otherwise, IT'S A SHIRT, PEOPLE!!!
