'My Mother Spent $19,000 On My Dream Wedding, Later Had A Baby With My Husband'

Lauren got married to Paul, but eight weeks later he walked off and then moved in with Lauren's mother Julie. He now has a child with both Lauren and Julie.

Relationships can be quite a complicated affair and separation can be even messier. A woman lost her husband to her mother, and the mother then went on to have a child with her daughter's ex-husband. Twisted, isn't it? Daily Mail reports Lauren Wall, now 34, from Twickenham, south-west London had married airport worker Paul White when she was just 19. Her mom Julie, now 53, even pitched in and paid over $19,000 for her wedding. Lauren, who was grateful to her mom for the help and support took her along on their honeymoon to Devon.

In a mere eight weeks, her then-husband moved out, and nine months later, her mother gave birth to her child with Paul. They then announced to the world that they're together. "Paul always got on really well with mum. I never thought it strange though, as she was his mum-in-law and he was just being friendly," said Lauren. "They'd laugh a lot together. I didn't think to be worried at all. Who would?" Lauren probably thought her husband and her mother were getting along well.

That definitely wasn't the case here, as Lauren later realized. "I couldn't wait to settle into marriage but the ink was barely dry on our certificate when Paul changed." She also mentioned that Paul started to become really protective of his phone, but then Lauren's sister, who used their mom's phone, apparently found what Lauren claims to be an exchange of text messages between Julie and Paul. However, her mother denied there was anything between them, telling Lauren she's crazy.

"When I confronted Paul he went white as a sheet – and refused to let me see his phone," Lauren said. Days later, he took off his wedding ring and walked out on Lauren and their 7-month-old daughter. Then, she heard that Paul had moved in with her mom and she just could not believe that two people whom she loved and trusted more than anyone else would do this to her. Understandably, she felt heartbroken and betrayed.

"It was sick. It's one of the worst things a mum can do to a daughter. Paul may have been a gutless groom but she's my mum. She's meant to love and protect me above all others." Lauren, now a business development manager, met Paul at a bar when she was 18. She fancied him right away. "He asked for my number and the next day he texted asking to go on a date to the cinema. We started going out straight after that." Soon enough, she found out she was pregnant and their daughter was born in March 2004. They got married soon after.

Five months later, when they got married, Paul told her that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, but then he walked out on her and then Lauren started to hear rumors about how her mother was pregnant with Paul's child. She even saw her mom walk down the street with a bump and when confronted, Julie said she was bloated because of a cyst. That's when Lauren set about getting a divorce. In July 2005, nine months after Paul had walked out, Lauren's mum, Julie, gave birth to his baby.

Julie apparently even tried to tell Lauren that the baby was someone else's. But then, they announced they were getting married and Lauren went to their wedding. "I went to watch Mum marry the same man I'd wed five years earlier." The mother and daughter have tried to mend broken bridges but they're still just getting there. Lauren also added that she talks to Paul because he's married to her mom, but that's all there is between them.

Lauren is now happily pregnant with her fourth child but she says what happened will leave her with trust issues for the rest of her life. "Time is a great healer, and mum and I have tried to have a normal relationship. But we will never be as close as we were – and I'll never fully trust her again." Julie said: "We are married. We didn't have an affair. We are married and that's it." Paul has, however, declined to comment on the situation.
