Adorable Wizard Dog Responds Only To Harry Potter Spells As Commands

Remus the dachshund was only two months old when Anna Brisbin began using spells from Harry Potter as commands, the smart little puppy quickly picked it up and is now a sensation.

In what could possibly be the ultimate dog video of all time, a Harry Potter superfan named Anna Brisbin has trained her dachshund, Remus, to respond to popular spells from the series. Remus, cleverly named after the werewolf Remus Lupin, even has his own little Hogwarts uniform complete with a Gryffindor tie and everything. The Los Angeles-based actress uploaded the now viral video of her dog responding to her commands disguised as spells on Twitter on Monday. In less than 24 hours, the video gathered over 2 million views. She began to train Remus when he was just two months old. Now, at 10 months, Remus is no doubt top of his class in doggie Hogwarts. In another genius move, Brisbin even uses a wand to cast her spells on an eager Remus, truly adding an element of magic to the already adorable equation.

I believe Brisbin has unwittingly opened the door to a wonderfully exciting future for dog videos. I bet we can look forward to all sorts of inspired versions of the wizard dog soon. Hats off to Brisbin for cleverly adapting the spells to include common dog tricks too, apart from her variety of Hogwarts' specials. Remus is alarmingly impressive, considering the wide range of spells he has managed to learn and respond to in such a short time. The video opens with a shot of Remus adorably perched on a Harry Potter themed bed in his uniform all ready for his tests.

Brisbin also posted the widely circulated video on to Brizzy Voices YouTube account. According to her Twitter account, she is currently working as a voiceover and screen actress. On YouTube, the video has already gathered over 497,781 views. The extraordinary long-haired miniature dachshund even has his own Instagram page - as celebrities should. Especially the furry ones. In what must have been the highlight of the whole experience for Brisbin, J. K. Rowling herself liked the video on Twitter.

And with good reason, too. When Brisbin aims her wand at Remus and says 'Stupefy' the amazing pup sits still as a statue. In the Hogwarts version of fetch, Brisbin launches a tennis ball into the air and shouts 'Accio ball' and Remus leaps into action chasing after it, promptly returning it to his proud wizard mom. In another cool twist on a regular dog trick, Brisbin points her wand at Remus and says 'Avada Kedavara' (the spell to kill) - which as you may have assumed, makes Remus play dead. Similarly, when she says 'Wingardium Leviosa' (a levitating spell) has him adorably standing up on his tiny hind legs.

Other amazing tricks include Remus sticking out his little tongue when Brisbon says 'Serpensortia', a spell from Harry Potter's Chamber of Secrets that Draco Malfoy casts in order to make a snake come out of his wand.  Remus' version wins hands down. It's tough to compete with a puppy sticking its tongue out on command. 'Ascendia' has Remus bounding up the stairs and up on to the bed, 'Descendo' has him running down the stairs. While. 'Revelio' has him eagerly jumping out of his hiding place.

If you are a fan of the Potterverse and also love dogs, then this is everything you'll ever need to be happy in life. Brisbin even has clever contraptions for Remus to use for some of the more Hogwarts-inspired spells. A strategically placed pedal placed on the floor by the door allows him to easily unlock the door when she casts the unlocking spell, 'Alohamora', while a push-light on the floor allows him to aptly respond to the spell 'Lumos' which is used to light up wizards wands. When Brisbin says 'Nox', Remus steps on the light again to extinguish it, just like the spell does to the wand light.

Other interesting spells Remus responds to is 'Augmenti' - which makes water comes out of a wand, but in Remus' case, it empties his bladder. The spell that makes things bigger, 'Engorgio', is Brisbin's command to make Remus eat. To truly have a laugh and fawn over Remus the wizard dog, you really must watch the video. Brisbin also has a black cat named Luna, whom she refers to as a death-eater in a hilarious clip at the end of the video. In case you were wondering, the Harry Potter superfan does lightly dabble in Cosplay and went dressed as Tonks for Halloween.
