The widow of the late Kobe Bryant, Vanessa, turned 38 on May 5. She received a special letter from her husband, her first birthday without him since his untimely death nearly four months ago. She also lost her 13-year daughter, Gigi in the helicopter crash. She took to Instagram and revealed that while she had discovered the letter on Monday, she chose to open it on her birthday according to CBS News.  She wrote: Yesterday I found an envelope labeled To: The Love of my Life. From, Tu Papi ❤️I waited to open one more letter on my birthday. It gave me something to look forward to today.❤️The irony is that Kobe had a photo of me drawn with an Angel holding me up by an artist on the cover

Missing the Love of my Life and my sweet little Mamacita- my fellow Taurus. Grateful to wake up to my 3 sweet girls today. Wish we were all together. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #MyBirthdayWish. Gigi Bryant would have turned 14 this year on May 1. On Gigi's birthday, Vanessa shared a sweet tribute on Instagram with a really cheerful picture of her fellow Taurean. She wrote: Happy 14th Birthday to my sweet baby girl, Gianna. Mommy loves you more than I can ever show you.

It was evident that Vanessa was missing Gigi as she added: You are part of MY SOUL forever. I miss you so much everyday. I wish I could wake up and have you here with me. I miss your smile, your hugs, and your giggles. I miss EVERYTHING about YOU, Gigi. I LOVE YOU so much!!!!!!  According to PEOPLE, for Gigi's birthday, Kobe's former teammate and his wife, Pau Gasol and Catherine McDonnell, sent a white and gold birthday cake in her honor to Vanessa. The past few days have been filled with bittersweet memories as Vanessa celebrated what would have been her 19th anniversary alone. As we reported earlier, she shared a heartfelt post to her husband, the love of her life. To commemorate her first anniversary without her husband, Vanessa shared an old picture of them and captioned it: My king, my heart, my best friend. Happy 19th wedding anniversary baby. I miss you so much. I wish you were here to hold me in your arms. I love you.

Despite the tragic losses, the family is sticking together and getting through this. Vanessa is immensely grateful to her other three children. Her girls ensured that their mother had a memorable birthday replete with Pinatas and flowers. This will probably serve as a reminder that even though she's lost two very important people, she still has her daughters who love her immensely, and together they can pull through this more than ever.
