62-year-old, Chaman Thakor, and 30-year-old Jayanti Thakor repeatedly raped a minor on campus.
Two teachers at a school for children with disabilities have been accused of repeatedly raping a blind girl for over two months. 62-year-old, Chaman Thakor, and 30-year-old Jayanti Thakor have been booked after authorities were informed about the alleged rape of the 15-year-old student. According to a report by Times of India, the accused committed the horrendous crime in the music room at the school.
It was only recently the parents learned about the sickening actions of the so-called-teachers. She reportedly spent Diwali, an Indian festival at Premnagar village of Patan district's Radhanpur taluka last month. When it was time to go back home, she displayed hesitation. This led to suspicion among members of her family regarding her unwillingness to go to school.
They urged her to open up about this sudden change of heart. That's when the girl broke down and described the heart-wrenching details of the sexual assault she had been subjected to. Being the first one to know about her experience, her aunt filed a complaint against the teachers on November 4, 2019. The complaint stated how the minor was first raped by Jayanti Thakor two months ago in the music room, and three days after the act of forceful intercourse was repeated against her by Chaman Thakor.
Furthermore, the girl revealed that the sexual assaults had finally stopped after she informed three other teachers in the institution about the traumatic events."We are investigating the case in detail and a manhunt has been launched to trace the two accused teachers who have fled," said Police inspector, Ambaji, JB Agrawat. According to reports, after finishing her 8th grade, the minor was admitted to the school, which grants rehabilitation and vocational training to the differently-abled students, to learn music in July. Thus, she was living in a hostel provided by the school.
While Jayanti is a resident of Bhabhar town of Banaskantha, Chaman lives in Gadh village near Palanpur. Both the men had been reportedly dismissed by the school management after the complaint was lodged and have been on the run ever since. When news reached twitter people were left disgusted. @Green Hulk wrote: No question of 'modest clothes' or anything. This is pure evil that needs eradication. Another @Somacharya Banala expressed: But their evil mind is not blind... Agreeing to these views, @Pratik noted: Its high time to teach humans to control hormones.
