Tristan Laue had his final wish come true before succumbing to a rare form of liver cancer as community joined hands to organize a wedding.
A 20-year-old Iowan man was lucky enough to marry the love of his life hours before succumbing to liver cancer. KWWL identifies the man as Tristen Laue who served in the United States Army for almost 2 years, after which he was medically discharged in April 2018. With an undeterred attitude of making the most of his life he attended the University of Northern Iowa from 2018 to 2019. The University awarded him a certificate for the completion of the last semester recently.
Tristen proposed to his girlfriend, now wife Tianna Laue on Easter. The strong connection they shared with each other doesn't happen for everyone says, Tianna. "He’s the love of my life, and even like talking to my mom and everything, she said some people don’t get what you two had in the amount of time like they’ll be together for years and still not have the same connection that you guys did," she revealed.
After the successful engagement, his family knew they had to execute the wedding as soon as possible. The whole community of friends and family came together to make this union special for the two of them. His family's Waverly backyard was the chosen venue for this auspicious occasion. They organized the whole thing in just 48 hours. According to Global News, a video of this ceremony held on April 27 shows how the bride and groom-to-be were exchanging vows and rings, surrounded by their family and friends under a tent.
Mitch Laue, Tristan's father referred to Tianna as his angel and said now Tristen can be hers. Tianna told KWWL, "Make sure you tell people you love them because you never know when you won’t be able to." She added, "Just make sure you cherish every day, even if they’re having a rough day or getting really upset." The two were made for each other as they also shared the same birthday with falls on May 11. Just five hours before giving into this rare form of liver cancer, his final wish came true.
The funeral services were held at the Crosspoint Church in Waverly on Saturday, May 4. The service commenced at 11 a.m. In the obituary released for Laue, his family mentioned, "Tristin Janey Laue, 20, of Waverly, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at his home in Waverly from complications of fibrolamellar liver cancer." It further read, "Tristin was united in marriage to Tianna Hargrafen on April 27, 2019." The obit also mentioned the love he had for Tianna, "Tristin was very goal orientated and had a bright future ahead of him. He was studying at UNI for Engineering Design and also enjoyed spending time with his new found love, Tianna."
They give us an insight into his hobbies and interest. Tristin enjoyed collecting guns and shooting with his friends. He also enjoyed gaming and collecting pieces for his Star Wars Armada game. He also really enjoyed boating, jet skiing, and camping with friends and family, it read. Tristen's former classmates created a page on GoFundMe to raise money for his memorial.
