Actor Tom Hanks revealed that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, both 63, have tested positive for Coronavirus. The shocking news came about after the actor himself took to Instagram to share the diagnosis. Hanks posted: Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus and were found to be positive. They were in Australia where Hanks was all set to film a movie on the life of Elvis Presley, reports The New York Times

Tom Hanks then shared: Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx! Tom Hanks is one of the most prominent people in the entertainment world to be diagnosed with COVID-19. CNN also reported that they reached out to Hank's representative and they confirmed the news but had no additional comment to give on the situation.

After Hanks shared the news of his diagnosis, several celebrities commented, hoping for a speedy recovery. Actor Marlon Wayans wrote: DAMN YOU TOM!!! You always gotta be first. First Emmy winner, first Oscar winner, first Hollywood Coronavirus. That one was mine damn it! Curses. Get well soon brother. I love you tremendously. Praying for you and wifey. Always my nizzle. Arwa Gouda, an Egyptian actor wrote: Stay safe.. I wish you a successful and speedy recovery.. much love all the way from Egypt. Businesswoman Patti Stanger added: Sending prayers, wishing you both get well fast and get back to the states ASAP! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.

Twitter user Charlamagne Tha God shared: 115,000 Coronavirus cases worldwide. 4,200 people killed and some Americans didn't think shit was real until Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and the NBA were hit with it. Start using your own brain and stop waiting until celebrities are impacted to take things seriously. Tom Hank's son Chet also shared a video about his parents' condition, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Wassup up everyone. Yea, its true my parents got coronavirus. Crazy," Chet said in a video message on social media.  He added: "They're both down in Australia right now 'cause my dad was shooting a movie down there."

"I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine. They're not even that sick. They're not worried about it. They're not trippin' but they're going through the necessary health precautions obviously. I don't think it's anything to be too worried about. I appreciate everyone's concern and the well wishes. I think it's all going to be alright. I appreciate it. Everybody stay safe out there. Much love." Warner Bros., the studio behind the movie Hanks was set to shoot for in Australia also issued a statement. "We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual," Warner Bros. said.

"The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world." Because of the number of shows that the company produces, Warner Bros. has been deeply hit by the outbreak. The television production division makes more than 80 shows. On Wednesday, Warner Bros. also put a halt on the production for Riverdale. “We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world,” Warner said in its Riverdale statement.
