People Are Sitting Backwards On Toilets So They Can Eat, Drink, And Watch Shows At The Same Time

The Tik Tok trend was made popular by user Amy Whoaa who claimed that this would change people's lives.

The video-sharing app, Tik Tok, is a weird and wonderful place all at once. It can be informative at times, and sometimes downright bizarre when it comes to trends. Now, a new trend has emerged where a TikTok user is encouraging others to sit in the opposite direction while going about their business in the toilet. The idea behind facing the flush is to give you space to keep your tablets or phones, snacks, and even drinks so that you can Netflix and chill. Maybe for some, it's a great idea to watch something on their devices to kill time while using the washroom, but the thought of consuming food is taking things a bit too far.

The trend was recently made popular by TikTok user @AmyyWoahh who introduced this supposedly life-changing hack to her 11 million followers. She claimed that people have been doing their business the wrong way up until now when she has the perfect trick to make pooping interesting. "You have been pooping wrong," she says in the video according to Metro. "What I want you to do is poop backward. Get your favorite snacks, get your favorite show and that’s how you poop. It’s the best of all times. You just sit there jamming and pooping." In no time, TikTok user Karla joined in and shared a stitched clip of doing the same.

The social-media user from Texas shows how she keeps her iPad to watch Netflix and before drinking a pint of Corona and munching chips. While most viewers were simply disgusted by the idea, some expressed that watching Netflix was not such a bad idea. AmyyWoahh's video was quickly viewed over three million times and her comment section was filled with comments of people stating how they would never let their food touch the environment of their washroom. Well, I for one, refuse to even chew the remaining bits of my food inside the bathroom.

The sickening challenge of licking the toilet seat made us aware of a large number of germs that survive on it. Now imagine the whole washroom, scary right? There's a reason why there's a separate space allotted in the house for taking a dump: it's hygienic. Now if people start eating in a room where inhabits more germs than usual, it defeats the whole purpose of having a bathroom. I could never understand why anyone would knowingly do this to themselves? It seems that some people echo my exact thoughts.

"My food can’t tough bathroom air," shared one user, according to Metro. "I refuse to let food in the bathroom, it’s like adding the odor to it," quipped another. "This is cool and all, but who eats in the bathroom?" a third chimed in. Even a medical professional was forced to leave a comment on the clip advising people against this trend propagated by the TikTok user. Dr. Aydin, a Turkey-based doctor, wrote: "Your show should end in five minutes, otherwise you could get hemorrhoids [if you sit there for that long]." There were some users who brought our attention to the possibility of contracting E. Coli while eating in the bathroom.

According to Mayo Clinic, E. Coli is an infection that is contracted when a person consumes contaminated water or food. This contamination can be caused by human stool. However, there was one who explained "the bathroom is the cleanest place in the house because you clean it with bleach so often." Clean or not, a bathroom is not the place to consume food. But I cannot stop you if you wish to poop backward while watching Netflix.
