Tiger Woods & Justin Timberlake Work Together To Raise $12 Million For Bahamas Hurricane Relief

It is understood that the two of them will work with the Royal Bank of Canada, as well as a luxury brand and a Bahamian resort in the relief effort.

Champion golfer Tiger Woods is teaming up with Grammy-Award winner Justin Timberlake to help the hurricane-struck Bahamas. The golfer and singer are helping set up a fund to provide aid and relief for victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas, according to CNN. It is understood that the two of them will work with the Royal Bank of Canada, as well as a luxury brand and a Bahamian resort in the relief effort. In a series of Tweets, Tiger Woods explained the whole process.

He wrote: 1) As a strong believer in philanthropy and teamwork, I’m excited to partner with my friends @jtimberlake, #NEXUSLuxuryCollection, @rbc, and @albanybahamas

to establish the ONE Bahamas Fund in support of Hurricane Dorian relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts. 2) We've established the #onebahamasfund with a challenge gift of $6 million, matching dollar for dollar the next $6 million raised. Help us turn this first $6 million into $12 million, and join our efforts to restore and rebuild The Bahamas.

3) Repost, share with friends and donate today. Together as one, we can make a difference. Donate at http://onebahamasfund.org. #onebahamasfund #bahamasstrong #donatetoday #hurricanedorianrelief. According to the Tweets, Woods, Timberlake, and their partners have already pledged $6 million for the fund and promise to match donations made by the public.

One user commented: Tiger you are a hero. Establishing the ONE Bahamas Fund with friends to aid Bahama's victims of Dorian is an example of your giving that earned The Presidental Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor. Another person wrote: Happy to hear this. All of us who have enjoyed the Bahama paradise during a honeymoon, birthday celebration or just a getaway fun vacation should give.

However, Woods and Timberlake aren't the only celebrities to donate money to the Bahamas. Basketball legend Michael Jordan on Tuesday pledged to give $1 million. And New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has appealed online for donations to another relief fund. "I am devastated to see the destruction that Hurricane Dorian has brought to the Bahamas, where I own property and visit frequently," Jordan said in a statement from his manager, Estee Portnoy, on Twitter. "My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering and to those who have lost loved ones."
