You Can Now Neutralize Your Farts With These Charcoal-Based Underwear Pads

Flat-D's flatulence deodorizers are made of activated charcoal cloth, and promise to absorb the offensive odors that come with flatulence.

Flatulence is largely looked down upon by society, especially if it's the "silent but deadly kind" - yes, you know exactly what we mean. But passing gas is a perfectly normal bodily function and there's absolutely no reason to judge a farter!

But if you'd like to spare yourself the judgemental looks from strangers, one company has a solution. Flat-D Innovation's charcoal-based flatulence deodorizers essentially "neutralize" a fart - it's perfect for people who are plagued with particularly offensive-smelling flatulence.

"The material we use is a high-tech filtering media (16) and was originally developed by the British Chemical Defense Establishment, to provide protection to its soldiers against nerve gas and other toxic vapors associated with chemical warfare," says the company's website.

"Your FLAT-D will eliminate any embarrassment brought on by odors associated with flatulence gas." The pads use several layers of activated charcoal fabric to filter out the offensive odor of flatulence. "When you fart or expel gas into the flatulence filter pad, the charcoal inside absorbs the gas, including all the bad smells associating with flatulence," the website explains.

"The odors remain safely trapped inside while no one suspects that you have passed gas since there is no odor, no rotten smell to indicate that someone has farted." The pad is meant to be attached inside a wearer's underwear and comes with double-sided tape for easy installation. The Flat-D pads can be washed repeatedly and reused, although the company also makes a disposable version.

The material is breathable, lightweight, reusable, washable and easily installed. "Due to its slim profile, the wearer is comfortably unaware of its presence," the website explains. Reviews also show that they seem to work quite well. Susie Kang wrote: Just wore for the first time today: so far so good. due to medication I'm taking, the flatulence is more often and gross. I just took a shower and the pad seems to work!!!!

Another reviewer, Gayla Smith, added: I never dreamed I would look for such a product. Thankfully they are out there and they work. The older I get, the louder I am. And I loathe feeling that not-so-fresh feeling. So these are a good investment for those out there with similar issues.

The website explains that in order for the pads to work, they must form a seal between the buttocks and the undergarment, and the flatulence gas needs to pass through the pad to eliminate the odor. "Remember you can hide the sound of a fart by making a louder noise, but you cannot hide the odor of flatulence," the website says as it encourages you to make your life fart-free.

"Just one weekend of using your product and I am no longer a social pariah," says a delighted testimonial on the Flat-D website. There's no point in trying to be delicate about a problem like this I had gastric bypass surgery about 9 months ago and have beyond awful gas. There is nothing I can take (Beano - Gas-X, etc) that works. My family complained all the time and I know I was an embarrassment to them. In social situations, I would have to leave and find someplace to hide and pass gas. Then I ordered your product. My first day using it, and it was unbelievable. I'm at work and my colleagues are laughing with me, not running away! I can ride in the car with my family and keep the windows up, another added.

You can get the disposable pads here, and the reusable ones here. If you've got a gastric issue, why suffer in smelliness when you have an easy solution? Reviewers definitely seem to agree.
