In a secret Hawaiian ceremony, the International actor and her long-time lover said 'I do', promising a loving life together.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is officially off the market ladies! The wrestler-turned-actor finally tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, in a secret ceremony on Sunday, August 18, reports CNN. Sharing the news about their romantic union, Johnson shared a series of photographs of his wedding on Instagram the following day. Choosing a rather crisp caption to announce their big day that took place in Hawaii, he wrote: We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed). In the first picture, we see the gorgeous couple throwing their arms up in the air with elation, especially Johnson who cannot help his ear-to-ear smile.
In the second photo, the newlywed pair poses for a kiss with a slightly dramatic dip. The 47-year-old actor looks charismatic as ever dressed in all white just like his bride. Donning a white shirt, which is partially buttoned, he looks absolutely dashing. His look is completed with two draped leis that perfectly embraced the Hawaiian traditions. Just like her husband, the 34-year-old singer is seen donning a simple yet intricate lace-covered gown along with a long veil. And in one of the pictures, she is seen holding on to a bouquet of flowers that complement her attire perfectly.
This marriage was long due, given that the couple already shares two daughters—Jasmine, 3, and Tia, 1. They welcomed their first daughter in December 2015 and their second child in April 2018. However, they never expressed their desire of getting married. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, last year, the international movie star confirmed that he was in no rush of getting married to his partner. "I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, 'Oh, did you get married?'" explained Johnson. "I'm like, 'No. Easy. Don't rush big daddy."
The two first met in 2006 when Johnson was filming his movie The Game Plan. He was still married to his first wife, Dany Garcia, at the time. He also has an 18-year-old daughter, Simone, with her. A while after Johnson met Lauren he divorced Dany in 2007. Although the exact date when the two started dating is still unclear, we did get to know about it eventually. Recently, the actor told Us Weekly that his daughters remind him "of what’s really important in life, and why I work the way I do." Meanwhile his new wife, Hashian will "always be the life anchor who makes this whole thing happen and shine," according to his Instagram post celebrating Mother's Day.
He further revealed how the couple did plan on getting married earlier however his partner was pregnant. "We were going to get married in the spring and we got pregnant," explained the star. "Lauren felt like, well, you know, mama [doesn’t want] to take pictures being pregnant in a wedding dress, so we’re just going to wait and not quite sure when, but I know it’s going to happen." Hence they decided to wait a while longer and it was totally worth it!
The two share quite an emotional bond as well. In a candid interview, Johnson revealed Lauren's reaction to the death of his co-star Paul Walker. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he said, "I was driving with Lauren when she immediately turned very quiet and was looking at me, studying, wondering if I knew." Furthermore, he added, "I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath." Appalled by the news, the couple said a quiet prayer for the well-being of Walker's daughter, who reminded him of his own.
"We said a prayer right then to give his daughter strength — because we had talked about our daughters. That's what we would talk about. Both of us were divorced, and we talked about the power of being a dad and the strong connection of a dad and his girl. Then once we got home, we started bawling," added the film star.
