The Beloved 'The Muppet Movie' Will Be Back In Theatres For 40th Anniversary Celebrations!

'The Muppet Movie' was a massive box-office hit, and it was about the journey of Kermit the frog and his newfound friends trek across America to find success in Hollywood, but a frog-legs merchant is after Kermit.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, The Muppet Movie is coming back to the big screen for two days! According to ABC News, the joint announcement was made by Fathom Events, The Jim Henson Company and Universal Pictures on Monday. Even though it's only going to be screened only for two days, it will be played in more than 600 theatres on Thursday (July 25) and Tuesday (July 30) at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time, both days. What does this mean? This means that Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear are coming back to entertain you soon!

The Muppet Movie is a cinematic treasure, a delightful film that may have been made 40 years ago but is truly timeless, thanks both to its iconic characters and to its always-stirring theme of following your dreams and believing in your own abilities,” said Tom Lucas, the Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations. “This film’s return to the big screen is very well deserved and we are happy to work with The Jim Henson Company and Universal Pictures to give it a proper nationwide re-release.”

Christia Holloway quoted the movie: "Life’s like a movie, write your own ending. Keep believing, keep pretending. We’ve done just what we set out to do. Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers, and you." Lisa Sutton shared fond memories of the movie with a loved one: Donna Wilson Jimenez, do you remember when you and I and Carl, Jr. went to see The Muppet Movie, 40 years ago? Carl, Jr. was 2 years old. He kept asking why that one muppet had glasses, but he didn't have any eyes. Lol.
