After dealing with demons, mythical creatures, and even God himself, Jared Padalecki who plays the invincible Sam Winchester opposite Jensen Ackles in CW's Supernatural has found himself in a world of pain. According to a report by TMZ, the actor was arrested early Sunday morning outside a club called Stereotype in Austin, Texas. Now, the fan-favorite "hunter" faces two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication. Eyewitnesses reportedly said that Padalecki "struck a bartender in the face" while he was inside the lounge. Claims of him hitting the general manager of the establishment were also made.
The fact that he frequented this place often makes it all the more ghastly. Previously, Padalecki, who seemed to be a fan of this lounge, went to the extent of promoting the venue's grand opening on his social media account. The post read: Who’s coming with me?!?! I hope to see y’all there on Thursday :). I’ll buy you a cassette tape! 😜 #StereoType #GrandOpening #WooHoo! A video of the moments leading up to his arrest was also captured. He was seen getting physically aggressive with a man on the sidewalk as well and that's when the cops were forced to get involved.
As per reports, witnesses present at the scene said that first Padalecki allegedly hit the bartender in the face while he was still at the venue. It was a friend, who in an attempt to calm him down, convinced him to step outside the club. Following this event, the actor put his friend in a headlock after a standoff. Eventually, police officers arrived at the scene and restrained him. But this was not before the Supernatural actor allegedly flashed a wad of cash to the authorities who were attempting to subdue him. Padalecki's bond has reportedly been set at $15,000, i.e. $5,000 per charge. It's still unclear whether the actor has posted bail and gotten himself released of not.
According to reports by Comicbook, some have even speculated that the 37-year-old might potentially be an investor or the actual owner of the 1990s-themed club. However, there's no backing to these claims. Studio 54 meets the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Saved by the Bell with a nod to Rubell, reads the description section of the bar's Facebook account.
