Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi is celebrating his team’s Super Bowl victory and how! He is giving back by helping dogs in need, reports People. The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers and secured their first championship title in five decades. Soon after the win, the KC Pet Project announced that Nnadi will be covering the adoption fees of every one of their shelter dogs that are currently available for adoption. The organization took to Facebook to write: KC WINS! We are so excited to announce that the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle, Derrick Nnadi is choosing to celebrate the Super Bowl win by paying for the adoptions of all the adoptable dogs currently at KC Pet Project!

We have had an amazing, season-long, partnership with Derrick and he couldn't have thought of a better ending. This partnership has been sponsored by the Derrick Nnadi Foundation. The partnership, sponsored by the athlete's foundation, was first announced last year.  For every game the Chiefs won, Nnadi, 23, paid the adoption fee for one dog that was looking for a home. “Thanks to his incredible support following this win, more than 100 available dogs in our care will have their adoption fees sponsored starting today,” KC Pet Project told CBS News.

They also added that all the dogs whose adoption fees Nnadi had covered during the regular season had found their forever homes. “We’ve had an average of 20 new dogs coming into our shelter every day recently so this comes at a great time as our shelter is full of wonderful pets looking for homes,” they added. Nnadi, who is a proud owner of two adorable puppers, was drafted by the Chiefs in 2018 in the third round.

He started his foundation as a means to give back to the communities in Kansas City, where the Chiefs play, as well as Virginia Beach, where he grew up. The page also took to Facebook to post another update. Wow, what a day! We know everyone is anxious to hear how many pets found homes today thanks to the Derrick Nnadi Foundation sponsoring the fees of all of our available dogs. 44 pets left the shelter (38 dogs and 6 cats) with new families and up to 30 more are going home tomorrow!

Of the 109 dogs that qualified for the sponsorship, hopefully, around 40 of those dogs will still be available after tomorrow, which is just incredibleWe want to thank all of the families who came out today and patiently waited to adopt a pet, and we are beyond grateful to Derrick Nnadi for this incredibly kind gesture helping our city's pets. Several people wanted to know how long this offer would go on and KC Pet Project replied:  Until all of the dogs that were available on February 2nd or before gets adopted.
