She announced that she was seeking a career in the adult entertainment industry, and her parents were "not upset"
When Steven Spielberg's adopted daughter Mikaela announced that she was seeking a career in the adult entertainment industry, it created quite the stir. She first broke this news on social media and reportedly wrote: I just launched my self-produced adult entertainment career. Safe, sane, consensual is the goal y'all. My body, my life, my income, my choice. I owe not a single person my autonomy or virtue just because of a name. During an interview with The U.S. Sun, Mikaela revealed that she had already begun producing solo porn videos and expressed how she would love to land a job as a strip club dancer once her sex worker license is approved.

Describing herself as a "sexual creature" she said, "I got really tired of not being able to capitalize on my body and frankly, I got really tired of being told to hate my body. And I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn't satisfying my soul. I feel like doing this kind of work, I'm able to 'satisfy' other people, but that feels good because it's not in a way that makes me feel violated." When asked how her parents reacted to this news, she said they were "intrigued" but "not upset."
The Nashville-based adult film star shared how she wished to gain financial independence from her uber-rich parents, who she is very close to, through this new career. "I've always been a very sexually natured person, which has gotten me in trouble before. Not in a predatory way, but just in the sense that people here in the South might not yet be comfortable with that. My main hope is just that I get somewhere lucrative enough to where I'm not tied down financially by things. And then I can really start saying to people there's nothing wrong with me using my body in a way that feels comfortable to support myself."
"I can't stay dependent on my parents or even the state for that matter - not that there's anything wrong with that - it just doesn't feel comfortable for me. This isn't like an 'end of the road' or 'I've hit bottom' choice. This is a positive, empowering choice, I realized there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual," added Michaela, who was adopted as a baby by Spielberg, 73, and his wife Kate Capshaw, 66. While she is okay with filming these fetish videos, Mikaela says she draws the line at having sexual intercourse with another on camera out of respect for her supportive fiancé 47-year-old Chuck Pankow.

"I think I would be great at fetish work. Honestly, I have hated my chest for so long but I've finally learned to embrace it. That was one of the things when I uploaded these first couple of videos, I realized, 'This is the moneymaker' - my large chest," she said, whilst adding, "and the reason I don't want to do anything outside of solo stuff is because I feel like it would be a violation of my boundaries and my relationship with my significant other." The daughter of the legendary director, who has chosen her stage named to be Sugar Star, also opened up about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child.
While growing up, she revealed that was groomed and abused by "predators". However, she maintained that these men were outsiders and not someone from her family or group of close friends. "I suffered a lot of grooming," she told the outlet. "I feel like the abuse I went through wasn't super intense, but it still had long-lasting impact, because it had me questioning: 'What is my body? What is it to have a body and exist in a body safely? Also, what is it to be an emotional human being and not have it taken advantage of?'"
"I'm very open about my borderline personality disorder both publicly, with friends and online - because we're portrayed as manipulative monsters a lot," she noted, explaining how the abuse led to many mental health issues, including borderline personality disorder, alcoholism, and anorexia. She shared how her problems worsened after being sent to a boarding school for troubled teens. "I came out of there worst than I was going in - with more anxiety and more attachment issues, more depression, and more hatred from my body. I actually developed an eating disorder while I was living there," she said.

Defending her parents, she continued, "It's not my parents' fault. They couldn't have known." She also admitted to drinking extensively to cope with her childhood trauma. "I was really out of control from about the age of 11 years old, even to up to two years ago," she said. "So that out of control-ness only stopped pretty recently. When I was 21, I used to drink every day and that went on for like two years until I almost died a couple of times." Weeks after this candid interview news surfaced, it was reported that Mikaela had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Although her fiancé said that it was "a misunderstanding" and that "no one is hurt," her bail was set at $1,000. She is due to appear at a hearing next Monday, reports Insider.
