'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Is Coming Back For A Third Season

The 'This is Us' star Sterling K. Brown expressed his excitement about joining the show's cast writing: I’m beyond excited to share some pretty marvelous news... #MrsMaisel, I’m coming for you!

Soon after the second season of the hit series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel started streaming on Amazon, people desperately needed to soak themselves in the 1950s themed glam! Unlike most series that have a successful first season, the American period comedy-drama managed to keep its entertaining momentum in the second season as well! And now, the third installment of the show is just months away! We also have some exciting news about the casting (shoutout for Sterling K. Brown) for the upcoming season which is said to be shot in an epic new location, however, we're not sure that anything can top the Catskills!

Amazon announced the release date for season 3 to be December 6, so if you already have some plans better reschedule! Following this information, they dropped the first trailer for the season a few days ago and it's Marvelous! Midge is seen relaxing in the palmy state of Florida in the most stylish way possible. A picture uploaded by Variety vouches for the same, although Susie does seems a little tense. The first season of the show was so well received that Amazon renewed it for a third season, six months before the Midge and company returned to our streaming screens. The news was then confirmed by the show's creator Amy Sherman-Palladino during her acceptance speech at the  Peabody Awards.

Unlike the previous season, this installment will contain 8 episodes (similar to its Emmy-winning season 1 reported TVLine, back in April. Speaking to the outlet in December, Sherman-Palladino revealed the episode count was still under "debate" and that "Amazon has given us some flexibility so we can see what stories we have. And we want to see what we can produce without killing everybody, including ourselves." She also hinted at some elaborate plans for the upcoming season. "Some of the stuff we’re talking about might take time. We’re just trying to figure out how to make sure everything good gets on the screen."

According to a report by Cosmopolitan, a portion of the latest season is being shot in a location in Miami! Tony Shalhoub teased ET Online saying, "I think I’ve heard that we’re going to Miami in June. That’s all I know. I don’t know what that [involves]. It’s about [Midge’s] tour, but that’s all I got." The second installment ended on the pretty prospective note where Midge is seen accepting Shy Baldwin's offer to be the opening act for all his shows throughout the tour. The trailer reveals how the dynamic duo is coping with their new life on tour. With swimming pools, airplanes rides, and lots of cheers it looks very promising!

Now, let's address the thing about the cast that has gotten us all excited! Sterling K. Brown will be there! Although we are yet to know the role that he will be playing, we cannot contain our excitement. The This is Us star, too expressed his eagerness for joining the award-winning comedy team on Twitter writing: I’m beyond excited to share some pretty marvelous news... #MrsMaisel, I’m coming for you! @MaiselTV @PrimeVideo. Voicing his love for the show he said (according to Entertainment Weekly), "The Palladinos were kind enough to write a little something for your boy, and I said yes … I’m getting together with Midge and it’s going to be awesome." ( Of course, he referred to creators Dan Palladino and Amy Sherman-Palladino as The Palladinos.

If you're wondering what happens to the other characters, here's what we know. Although the trailers show things to seem fine between Joel and Midge, the description of these season reads: "Joel struggles to support Midge while pursuing his own dreams." As for the comic's parents, it has been rumored that Abe has found a new mission while his Paris-loving wife, Rose has unearthed some new talents of her own! How amazing does that sound? We cannot for the latest drama that the show has planned for its audience. One thing's for sure, it is going to be funny as hell! You can watch the trailer for Season 3 below.
