'Spice Girls' Including Victoria Beckham Will Be Reuniting For An Animated Movie, And Fans Are Divided!

An animation film featuring all the Spice Girls are in the works. This is the second film that they are acting in after 'Spice World' in 1997.

Back in the '90s, the Spice Girls were huge. These British girl group rocked the world of pop and was even considered the best after The Beatles. The girl band reached their peak stardom when their cult hit musical comedy, Spice World hit the screens. Unfortunately, the dream team broke up before being able to release another one,  but that won't be the case for long.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Spice Girls are making a come back to the silver screen, and this time it's in the form of an animation . Reports say that Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice will also be joining the team to work on this project. This announcement comes after more than two decades since Spice World released was in 1997. While the details about the movie's plot haven't been disclosed yet, it's has been said that the project is merely at the development stages.

The Paramount Animation team led by president Mireille Soria assured that the animation will not be released until 2020 which is the earliest. Soria said, "[The Spice Girls] had an idea that we've been developing. They are very involved." The studio which encourages mainly getting female senior staff on board confirmed that we will be seeing all five members of the iconic 90's girl band.  Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and, of course, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) will be featured in this flick.

The first movie that the girls did together saw them dealing with the problems that usually come with boundless fame. Nonetheless, the friendships that were displayed in the cult movie was inspiring to say the least. People cannot wait to see what kind of adventures the pop icons will embark upon in their animated avatar. The musical comedy received mixed reviews when it first released, but it has since created a place for itself in the history of pop. Now, it is known as a cult classic among their avid fans.

Simon Fuller, who used to be the manager of the girls when they were soaring high with success, will now be producing the animated movie. While his brother Kim wrote the screenplay for the previous movie, this time around Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith will be writing the screenplay. In addition to the animated features, there will be new songs in the film and a few of the classic Spice Girls songs without which it would be incomplete!

When news broke out, fans couldn't keep their calm. @Mayiread wrote:  I literally just saw this and nearly screamed!!! @BrandKoSamiFinn chimed in with: Our next movie date and @nicsbucar was all in simply stating: YES PLEASE!!! OMG. @ALLDAyMARTiN wrote: Thank you god for hearing my prays all these years, you a real one!! @MMMikeDaddy added:I’ll tell you what I want what I really really want. I wanna , I wanna , I wanna , I wanna, I wanna new #SpiceGirls movie in my life!

However, not all were on board. @Dreygo81 was sure that it would bomb. He wrote: Well, this is gonna tank. So, the only way to do this is to have an all female staff? So much for inclusion. @SuhJester echoed his sentiments and added: Didn’t the first one bomb at the peak of their stardom? We’ll see which is more profitable: new or nostalgia. @GX3394 informed others of their success, saying: It was critically panned but was quite successful commercially. $151 million at the box office to a $25 million budget.

@iameMQue wished for a little more as he wrote: This is incredible news. The only better news would be a US leg of their new tour (with Posh) Also, @LSD42398309 said: I’ve lost all faith in humanity following this news. Why!!!!! Amidst mixed reactions like Spice world 2?!? Yes please!!!! and Sign #23 that the end times are truly here. Now, all we have to do is wait for it, and be the judge of it.
