"The couple is already obsessed and can't stop gloating about their new addition," a source revealed.
Sophie Turner, best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones, and Joe Jonas have welcomed their first child together, reports PEOPLE. "Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are delighted to announce the birth of their baby," a statement read. Turner, 24, and Jonas, 30, celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 1st. TMZ was the first to report about the couple welcoming their baby. While some reports state that the ecstatic couple is yet to reveal the name and sex of the baby, TMZ reported that Turner had given birth to a baby girl named Willa.
"The couple is already obsessed and can't stop gloating about their new addition," a source tells Entertainment Tonight. "The couple is taking time to enjoy this special moment and have only shared the news and updates with family and friends." As part of prepping themselves to welcome the new addition, it was reported that Turner and Jonas purchased a baby-friendly home in Los Angeles. "They were hoping to expand their family," said another insider. It was also revealed that the couple's new home "is a great family house" with plenty of room to raise children. "They are definitely preparing for the baby," said the source. "She and Joe are both very happy."
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner had no idea of making their wedding a public affair. Even from the pictures, it was evident that only close friends and family were a part of it. According to ELLE, the only reason they had to announce their wedding was because Diplo live-streamed the ceremony without prior permission from the bride or the groom. She would've kept the marriage secret “maybe not forever. I think at some point I would have had to stop saying 'fiancé', but yes, I would have kept it a secret," she said. "Marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be. It’s not about the dress, it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever.”
Diplo was actually booked to be their wedding DJ and not their photographer. "Well, we didn't choose him to be our wedding photographer," she said. "He just kind of decided to livestream it. [What happens in Vegas] doesn't stay in Vegas." But, there was a chance that the wedding might not have happened at all. In an interview with The Times UK, Turner revealed that she and Jonas actually broke up a day before their wedding. "It was the worst day of our lives," she told the outlet. But thankfully, they both quickly realized they wanted to be together. "For a second we both had cold feet, then 24 hours later we were both, like, 'Never mind.'" Turner has always been open about her struggles with her mental health.
She says that her husband had a lot to do with her overcoming that phase. "He was, like, 'I can't be with you until you love yourself, I can't see you love me more than you love yourself.' That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way." The thing is, since the age of 13, her life was out in the open, for the public to comment and criticize. "Having your adolescence being displayed in public, that's something I really wish hadn't happened," Turner said. "Being in the age of social media when that's happening, I think I would be a much saner person if I hadn't been documented from 13 — your most awkward, uncomfortable, unsure-of-yourself years."
Their fans were extremely 'delighted' by the news of the couple's newborn and they took to social media. Tiffany Pipkin shared: I happen to love the name Willa! My youngest daughters middle name is Willa-named after her deceased grandfather whose name was Willard...we wanted to name a boy after him and never got one so decided this was a great alternative! Stop with all the name hate! At least they didnt name her hashtag! Lisa Witt-pinaire added: I love the name Willa Jonas. Willa Cather was an American writer. Shayla Brown posted: Welcome little Willa Congrats on your new addition Jonas family.
