When the owner heard the doorbell, he picked up his gun for safety. Who was waiting outside took him by surprise!
Dogs are usually considered a mix of sugar, spice, and everything nice. It takes them one effortless puppy face to get our hearts melting. But mind you, that is not all they are! Dogs are one of the smartest animals on the planet, or at least that's what I think. This incident has only strengthened my belief. Being a pet parent, I know the effort that goes into taking care of them. They cannot communicate like us but are smart enough to always make us comprehend and fulfill their needs.
Recently, Robert Fox of McDonough, Georgia was awoken at 2 AM to the sound of his doorbell. Since it was an odd hour, he did not know who to expect at the door. Anticipating the worst, he took his gun and carefully headed for the door. His wife yelled out to him saying that it could probably be their dog Chika, a little Labrador-mix, ringing the bell. But how could a dog ring the bell, right? However, he was in for a surprise.
It turned out that Robert's wife was right and it was Chika who rang the bell! She was locked out of the house by accident and she wanted to come back in. She probably knew that barking wasn't going to help her, so she did the one thing that any other human being would do. She rang the bell to attract her owner's attention. Now, how smart is Chika?
Robert wanted to confirm it was Chika, so he checked the footage captured by the door-cam. He was taken aback when he saw Chika ringing the doorbell with her paws. The footage was shared on the social media platform, Reddit and it displays Chika attempting to ring the doorbell several times. Here she’s seen moving away from the door after ringing the doorbell. Moments later, she returns to try again. It is exactly what you and I would do if we were locked out and knew our family members were sleeping in.
Robert, in the comments, explained that Chika was locked out accidentally. They have three dogs and Chika is quite close to their son, so Robert assumed she was with him. Little did he know that his son had left the doors open when he went out to put the chickens up for the night. Chika, around that time, ran out through the open door, probably to give her best buddy some company. The smart pupper is now safe and sound, and Robert added that even if she did spend some time outside, nothing would have happened to her.
Robert and his family stay in the country and their house is protected with a fence, so Chika would have definitely been safe. However, there were comments about how Chika was wearing a shock collar and that she looked malnourished. Robert assured people that her collar was for the wireless fence and that she is naturally skinny, even though she eats her meals like nobody's business.
