Simone Biles Becomes The Most Decorated Female Gymnast In History, And She's Just 22

“I feel like I never think of records. I just go out there and do what I came to do, which is competing for the country.”

There's no stopping the force that's called Simone Biles. The Best Gymnast Ever just officially became the most decorated female gymnast in history, after she won her 21st World Championship medal in Stuttgart, Germany. According to CNN, her win officially beats the record of retired gymnast Svetlana Khorkina, who had 20. And you know what the best part of all of this is? The fact that Biles is only 22. Now if that doesn't impress you, here's another fact. 15 out of those 21 medals are gold. She's got the record for the most World Championship gold medals ever in gymnastics history, too.

Also, there are high chances that her medal count could go up before the week's over, setting yet another world record. Tuesday's gold medal was awarded for the Women's Team Final event, where Team USA competes against other countries. The winner is decided by tallying the total scores from the participating gymnasts.  And, it was a win for team  USA too, as it was their fifth consecutive world team title, in addition to being Biles' 21st medal.

Like mentioned earlier, Biles has just started with her week.  On Thursday, she'll be competing in the Women's All-Around Final, before spending the weekend competing in all four individual event finals -- vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. There's no guarantee that she will win a medal in all four categories, but if she does, it does mean that she could have won 5 more medals by the time the week ends, which brings her total to 26.

Last year, at the 2018 World Championships in Doha, Biles brought home six medals -- including four golds in team, all-around, vault, and floor exercise. Yes, this does mean that she brought home a medal in every single event possible, for those of you keeping count. One user took to social media platform Twitter to share: Simone Biles is absolutely ridiculous. She makes everything look so easy it’s wild. By far the best gymnast of all time. We definitely agree.

Also, it's important to note that Biles is just two medals short of breaking the record of Belarus's Vitaly Scherbo, which would make her the most decorated gymnast for both women and men in the competition, according to The Oprah Magazine. "Every year it feels better and better just because we’re adding to the legacy,” Biles told the AP. “I feel like I never think of records. I just go out there and do what I came to do, which is competing for the country.”

Oh, and there seems to be some more good news coming her way, and this is something for her to be proud of. According to Team USA, the "triple-double" will now be renamed as the "Bile II," while another signature acrobatic pass (the "double-double dismount" on the beam) will be named the "Biles." So if her accomplishments weren't enough, she'll be cemented in gymnastics and sports history for sure.
