Shakira And Jennifer Lopez Will Headline 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show

The 54th Super Bowl and the 50th modern-era National Football League championship game will be held on 2nd February 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida.

Brace yourselves, boys and girls, for you are about to be dazzled this coming February as Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be headlining the halftime show together at Super Boel LIV.

The announcement was confirmed by both the singers on Thursday that they would be the star performers on Feb-2,2020 at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami, Florida. Oh, and the date also happens to be Shakira's birthday! What a way for her to turn 43.

Shakira shared a photo with Lopez, 50 with a captain reading "Get ready 02.02.20." Wow, that does have an epic ring to it. Lopez also tweeted "This is happening. 02.02.20" along with a photo of Shakira. A shot with both of them was shared finally with a caption reading “Going to set the world on 🔥🔥🔥 @shakira #PepsiHalftime #SuperBowlLIV @pepsi”

The star from 'The Hustlers' was previously rumored to be the sole performer for the NFL 2020 championship game, and she'd even been teasing fans about it during the weeks leading up to the official announcement. She previously stated "I don’t know, I know everybody’s asking me. They’re starting to think I’m telling people things. I don’t know anything yet!”. Well, now we do know, and that's one fantastic night to look forward to!

“It’s something that we’ve talked about for many years, and, you know, it would be nice. It would be nice. I can’t say I wouldn’t love it,” Lopez told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest while promoting her movie 'Hustlers' earlier this month. The upcoming Super Bowl performance would be J-Lo's follow to her recently concluded "It's My Party" tour.

It definitely looks like the line-up is getting hotter and hotter with each year. We've had the likes of Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga all perform in previous Super Bowl halftime shows. Last year's performance had Maroon 5, Big Boi and Travis Scott headlining the show. Back in August, rapper and producer Jay-Z made the announcement that he would be working with the NFL as a "live music entertainment strategist". The deal ensured that the billionaire rapper's sports and entertainment company, Roc Nation, would consult the NFL on all their live events, including the Super Bowl's halftime show.

“We are so excited to announce that global superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will take the stage together for the very first time at the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show,” Adam Harter, Senior Vice President of Sports, Media and Entertainment, for PepsiCo said in a statement. “We’ve been working closely behind-the-scenes with our longstanding partners at the NFL, and now alongside Roc Nation to bring these mega superstars together. It is a testament to our partnership and commitment to push the envelope of what is possible.”

Todd Kaplan, Vice President, and Marketing for Pepsi added, “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to the stage. These two remarkable artists are setting a new precedent for what this show can become, and we’re confident that this will be an incredible performance for the ages.”
