During the 23rd annual Human Rights Campaign National Dinner held in Washington D.C. over the weekend, singer Ricky Martin made an exciting announcement regarding his personal life reports PEOPLE. The Livin' La Vida Loca star revealed that he and his husband, Jwan Yosef, are expecting their another child. After making his way towards the stage to accept the National Visibility Award for his LGBTQIAP+ rights and his philanthropy, the star shared the joyous news with the crowd that was present on Saturday night.
"My family’s here," said Martin during his acceptance speech as he went on to praise his husband, Yosef, with whom he's raising his beautiful twin sons Matteo and Valentino, aged 11. "My husband Jwan, I love you, my beautiful twins, Valentino and Matteo, they’re also here, I love you with all my heart, you’re my strength, you inspire me every day, you motivate me to keep doing what I’m doing and you guys are amazing kids," said the 47-year-old singer. "You guys are amazing. I love you."
Although the couple's 9-month-old daughter, Lucia, had to stay back with her grandma, Martin did not forget to give his little munchkin a shoutout. "Lucia, my baby girl who is not here with us, she stayed at home with Grandma, but she's also the light of my life." Then came the big announcement which was received by the crowd with a loud cheer. "And by the way, I have to announce that we are pregnant. We are waiting," said Martin, adding, "Alright! I love big families."
On August 8, 2019, the Puerto Rican singing sensation shared a picture of his beautiful daughter for the first time on his Instagram. Lucia, who was born via surrogacy on December 24, 2018, happens to share her birthday with Martin. In the picture captioned La luz de mis ojos #Lucia, which translates to "the light of my eyes," his lovely baby girl is seen sitting on Yosef's lap. Martin'a husband Yosef, an artist, shared the same photograph on his Instagram and captioned it: Baby Lucia Martin-Yosef being the LIGHT she is ✨❤️✨
Following the birth of their daughter, Martin expressed his desire of expanding his family. "I want four more pairs of twins. I would love to have a big family, but there’s a lot going on at this moment, a lot of work," he said, while walking the red carpet of 2019 Golden Globes in January. "It’s a lot going on so we’re going to put things in order first and then we are going to get ready for many more kids." According to The Daily Mail, Martin confessed, "I want a big family, we want a big family. It's been beautiful." The couple welcomed their daughter a year after the two secretly tied the knot in January 2018. The pair started dating in 2016 after chancing upon each other on Instagram.
