As the ballots for the Presidential candidates in the battleground state of Pennysyllvia continue to be counted, one of the state's professional football teams is making sure that the election workers are fed well. On Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers won over hearts after buying dinner for election workers in Allegheny County. In a video shared by the county on Twitter, the Steelers were thanked for the "chicken, rigatoni, veggies, rolls, pies, and more" edibles that had been sent their way. The county also added in another tweet that the Steelers had sent them pie for dessert and shared a picture of it, reports CBS News.

Speaking to CNN, The Goose Express, the catering service, revealed that they delivered food that was enough to feed 65 people and that the Steelers had picked up the tab for it. "We figured it was a good opportunity to help them give back," shared Amanda Wood, an employee who had taken up the responsibility of delivering the food. Wood, who works as the restaurant's wedding coordinator, had actually offered to take up the task of making the delivery since it was on her way home. Recalling the reaction of the election workers, Wood said that they were "so grateful" when they received the order.

Apparently, Steelers officials reached out to the election office on Wednesday evening asking if they could help feed all the poll workers, County spokeswoman Amie Downs told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The news about the delivery was soon retweeted by Linebacker Vince Williams and many of the videos posted on Twitter shows deliveries being made at the polling place. However, there were no players present at the location when the food was being delivered to the poll workers. It remains unclear which Steelers players or personnel' brian child this idea was.

This is not the first time that the Pittsburgh Steelers have had involved themselves in political matters that benefit the people of America. Back in September Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin made an appearance in a public service announcement encouraging people to vote by mail. Then in October they partnered with a local foundation and donated 5,000 masks to election officials in Allegheny County. "We're professionally focused, but we've been talking continually about being active participants in the political process and exercising our right to vote," expressed Tomlin in a news conference on Tuesday. "It requires no special meeting or no point of emphasis today. We all know what today is."

According to CBS Pittsburgh News, the election workers have been working nonstop to count the ballots, They halted the counting at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday after working for 22 hours straight and then resumed work a little after 10 a.m. Democratic nominee Joe Biden seems to have taken quite a lead after earning 7,34,88,248 votes and 264 electoral, whereas Donald Trump is trailing behind at 6,96,22,407 votes with just 214 electoral votes. Unfortunately, the POTUS is in no mood to admit defeat just yet and has even gone as far as to falsely claim victory, reports the New York Times.

He then went on to say that the elections process has been fraudulent in an attempt to stop the counting of mail-in ballots. "If you count the legal votes, I easily win. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us," said the sitting President. "I’ve already decisively won many critical states, including massive victories in Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, to name just a few. We won these and many other victories despite historic election interference from big media, big money, and big tech. As everybody saw, we won by historic numbers, and the pollsters got it knowingly wrong. They got it knowingly wrong. We had polls that were so ridiculous and everybody knew it at the time."

He then went on to criticize the mail-in ballot system saying, "I’ve been talking about mail-in voting for a long time. It’s really destroyed our system. It’s a corrupt system and it makes people corrupt, even if they aren’t by nature, but they become corrupt. It’s too easy. They want to find out how many votes they need, and then they seem to be able to find them. They wait and wait, and then they find them, and you see that on Election Night."
