Owen Wilson Refuses To See His Daughter But Hangs Out With Sons Even During Lockdown

Despite not being romantically involved with either of the mothers, the 51-year-old seems to be quite a doting father to his two sons. But the same cannot be said for his daughter.

Earlier this month actor Owen Wilson was seen heading to one of Malibu's beaches alongside his sons six-year-old Finn and nine-year-old Robert Ford. According to Daily Mail, the Oscar nominee and his kids were not wearing any protective gear like masks while outside. This came at a time when California Governor Newsom ordered to shut down many public spaces to stop the spread of COVID-19. Despite not being romantically involved with either of the mothers, the 51-year-old seems to be quite a doting father to his two sons.

Wilson first became a father when his then-girlfriend Jade Duell gave birth to their 6-year-old son Ford. But the couple reportedly split in 2011 after which he began dating fitness trainer Caroline Lindqvist who birthed his second child, now 3-year-old, Finn. During a previous interview, Wilson jokingly claimed that both his sons will be "ganging up" on him one day. "Sometimes it feels more like I'm already seeing how they're going to be as teenagers where they're sort of ganging up on me," he told Ellen DeGeneres while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "We went to Sequoia National Park and they have the biggest tree in the world. Ford's like, 'I've seen bigger.' I’m like, 'Well no, Ford, actually you haven't seen bigger, this is the biggest tree in the world. He's like, 'If you say so,'" he recalled.

He further added that Ford is a "stuntman in training" and revealed how Finn is fond of copying his brother. "Ford seems like he might even be a little stunt man in training," said Wilson describing his older child as "fearless." He shared a video of the adorable boy doing a belly flop into the pool off of a diving board. Furthermore, he shared that his little guy is "a big Jackie Chan fan," with whom Wilson has appeared in the movie franchise Shanghai Noon.

That being said, it seems like Wilson doesn't want anything to do with his youngest child, a "secret" daughter whom he had never acknowledged publicly. Back in 2018, little Lyla Aranya Wilson was born. The 18-month-old is the daughter of Varunie Vongsvirates whom Wilson has been dating on and off for 5 years. "Owen has never met Lyla. Never. Lyla needs a father. It's ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter," claimed the  36-year old mother.

In May 2018, Vongsvirates reportedly filed a paternity petition with the court, and following a DNA test it was revealed that Wilson is indeed the father of her child. He has been paying $25,000 a month in child support for the baby girl he has never met. He has also paid for a one-off $70,000 to cover a night nurse, labor coach, and Vongsvirates' legal fees. According to court documents, Wilson had checked the "none" box under the option for visitation rights noting that he was "not certain if he is the parent."

Although Vongsvirates filed for sole custody of their daughter, she still wanted Wilson to be a part of the baby's life. Wilson is there for her financially, but Vongsvirates said, "it's never been about that." With the help of a Daily Mail article, she addressed the actor and the father of her child and said, "You should see your daughter, she's incredible, you're really missing out. She looks just like you." It's understandably hard to believe that someone like Wilson, who plays lovable characters on screen, refuses to be a part of his daughter's life.

According to a report by Radar Online, the Wedding Crashers actor stopped speaking to Varunie Vongsvirates after she told him about her pregnancy. "When Varunie told Owen she was pregnant, he was not happy about it, and that was the last time they ever spoke," shared an insider, adding, "He changed his phone number. He’s never met his daughter and then he gave no heads up that he was changing his number. Varunie’s mother passed away when she was still kind of young and impressionable." Revealing the mother's wishes, the source said, "She knows what it’s like to grow up with one parent. She doesn’t want that to happen to her daughter." They added how it feels like a "double whammy" to Vongsvirates when Wilson is often seen with his two sons he had from his previous relationships. "She just wants her daughter to have a normal life. It didn’t work out between the two of them – that happens – but to abandon his child is rude and wrong," the insider said.
