The Nike Air Zoom Pulse is versatile enough to support health professionals who have to stand long hours. It also gives them the flexibility to move swiftly in case of an emergency.
As a brand, Nike has established itself as one of the best in the market. It has been our go-to brand for anything sports and athletic-related. Now, they've come out with a new shoe that has nothing to do with people from the sports industry.
These shoes are not meant for basketball players or athletes, but they're actually meant for the everyday heroes who don't get the appreciation they deserve. These are the people who spend their entire day on their feet, helping others in need of aid.
They keep the rest of us comfortable, but we have probably never wondered if they're comfortable. Nike did think of them and these new shoes are for the people in the medical field. This one's for the doctors, the nurses and the home help aides.
CNN Business reports that Nike Air Zoom Pulse is an athletic shoe that was designed keeping medical health professionals in mind. In a news release, Nike reveals they had "everyday heroes" in mind when they came up with the design.
Officials from the company headed to OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital located in Portland, Oregon, to evaluate and observe these heroes in action.
They concluded that "nurses walk approximately four to five miles and sit for less than an hour during the course of a 12-hour shift. The work is physically and mentally demanding."
This is why they've made the shoe's design quite simple. "The shoe is easy to get on and off, and equally simple to clean. The fit, cushioning and traction systems work together to secure the foot in all hospital conditions." It has a laceless upper and an elastic strap so that it stays in place.
This is remarkable! Our everyday heros deserve happy, restful and fashionable feet too. Go Nike Go!!!!!!!!— Lilian Adaora Udodi (@mannersdatmata) November 15, 2019
The design is in such a way that it is versatile enough to support health professionals who have to stand long hours and also give them the flexibility to move swiftly in case of an emergency.
"The answer comes through the Pulse's full-rubber outsole, a flexible drop-in midsole with Zoom Air heel unit and a heel fit so secure, it feels like a soft, snug hug." The design also resembles the medical crowd's favorite clogs!
Nike says the "arch and posture support of that industry favorite is augmented in the Pulse, with a smooth capacity for natural motion."
Also, Nike's got their news shoes well prepared for the "unforeseen peculiarities of life in the hospital. The coated toe box protects against any type of spill. Smooth surfaces present a unique challenge when designing for spills as well, and the shoe's traction pattern solves for this by removing closed cells."
If they are at a reasonable price I might buy a pair even tho not in medical field but am on my feet for 12 hours working in production— SRE (@SEcorona12) November 15, 2019
In short, the key designs of this shoe, according to Nike, are that it has a "laceless upper features a protective PU-coated synthetic vamp for easy cleaning."
The shoe also comes with "an elastic strap keeps the heel securely contained, and allows for flexible and easy one-handed entry." Then, there's "the durable, full-rubber outsole incorporates a water-dispersive traction pattern."
Lastly, "the subtle Asterisk logo references Nike's company mission and the belief that "If you have a body, you are an athlete"."
And they will probably price it at $300. How considerate for the already overworked and underpaid nurses and care workers.— Laura (@MauveLala) November 15, 2019
