Trigger Warning: The story is about child rape that readers may find disturbing

A mother in England was devastated after a 21-year-old pedophile raped her 5-year-old daughter. Hoping for justice she knocked on the doors of the courts but to her dismay and fury, even the institution was not able to give her justice. The pedophile named Callum Haycock did not serve a single day in jail and was let free after paying a petty fine and completing compulsory community service. At the Worcester Crown Court on October 1, Haycock was found guilty of raping a child under 13. But the punishment he received was not proportional to the crime he committed felt the girl's mother. "I ran out of the court and slammed the door behind me, as I walked out of the court I just shouted 'it's a f***ing joke'. I see no justice for my daughter in this," she said according to Mirror.

The court handed the Kidderminster, Worcestershire resident a three-year community order and a 35 days' rehabilitation requirement. He was also asked to pay a fine of £200 (around $250) and another £2,500 ($3,228) to the victim. Haycock will also be put on the Sexual Offenders' Register for five years. The angry mother said she has now appealed the case in the London High Court. "This has ripped our lives apart. We've had to have counseling, it's ruined our lives. It separated me and my partner because we both didn't know how to deal with it so we took it out on each other," said the mother whose identity has not been revealed to protect the victim. The mother, however, said she is "proud" of her daughter's courage who testified in court. "She's been incredibly brave, she gave evidence at the trial and everything. I'm immensely proud of her," she said.

The mother added, "She's one of the bravest little girls I've ever met. She will get over this but she will never forget it. It will always be there but she's not the sort that is going to let it ruin her life. She still smiles every day and gets on with life." Of course, the ordeal has had a huge impact on the girl, the mother pointed out. According to Daily Mail, "She does wet the bed but we're going through counselling to try to sort that out." The girl is also now highly suspicious of any unknown individuals especially men. "She has difficulties forming relationships with strange men in her life, obviously," the mother said. About the compensation the girl is set to get, her mother said her child wanted to give it away to charity. "We told her that he'd got to pay her some money, because he's got to pay her £2,500 compensation, and she turned around and said she wants to give it to the poor," she said.

The mother also thanked people around her who have been highly supportive of her and her daughter.  "The police were amazing with us and so were Witness Support. They were very supportive and patient and they handled everything with dignity." According to information got as per a Freedom of Information request by Daily Mail, as many as 88 pedophiles were spared an immediate jail term, while another 91 were sent to jail between 2014 to 2016. The problem, the report highlighted was " lenient" judges.
