Mom Kills 3-Year-Old Daughter After Argument Over What To Watch On TV

The mother was apparently annoyed her daughter always sided with her husband and never supporter her.

In a disturbing story, a three-year-old was killed by her own mother after she sided with her father over what to watch on Tv. Sudha, a 26-year-old woman from the southern Indian city of Bengaluru, choked her toddler to death in a fit of rage after getting "irritated" that she always sided with her father and loved him more than her. According to the Independent, the suspect and her husband, daily-wage laborers from the Mallathahalli region of Bengaluru in Southern Karnataka and got in a fight over what to watch on TV last Tuesday.



 

 

When the woman's husband Eeranna returned home from work, his daughter was watching TV. Interested to catch up on some news, he changed the channel but the wife objected. The two got into an argument which led to her telling her husband not to return home if he wanted to watch TV. That's when the daughter intervened and sided with her father asking her mom to stop with the argument. In a statement, according to India Today, Sanjeev M Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru West, said: "The girl said her mother had gone mad. Sudha lost her cool and murdered her daughter the same night." The incident was pre-planned per the police as she took her daughter to an under-construction site nearby that same night and strangulated her.

The news came to light on Wednesday when locals found the girl's body and summoned the parents to identify the body. When they saw the body lying motionless, they reportedly broke down into tears. The mother even built a story around the daughter's disappearance and said the girl had gone missing the previous night when she stepped out to eat street food. However, police didn't buy the web of lies Sudha was spinning and they confronted her with proof of her whereabouts which pushed her to admit to the murder. When asked why she did it, she admitted to the police that she was very angry with the child because she always sided with her father but never with her.

Per The Hindu, another senior police official added: "She said she was in a chaat shop when her daughter went missing. However, during the course of the investigation, we found that she had not visited the chaat shop. Instead, she was placed near the area of the construction site with her daughter. We have CCTV footage of them." Sudha has since been arrested by the police and a criminal case has been lodged in her name. She will be kept under police custody till her hearing date, which is yet to be scheduled. A Chicago woman, charged with first-degree murder in the death of her five-year-old daughter, was denied bail after the court heard that she allegedly slashed the child's throat with a serrated knife. The child's older sister witnessed the killing. The incident occurred in the 3200 block of West Fulton Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Officers found paramedics attempting to save the girl when they arrived at the scene. She was stabbed multiple times, reports Daily Mail.



 

 

As per Cook County Medical Examiner's office, the girl named Serenity Arrington was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy report from the day after the incident revealed the child's cause of death was due to "multiple incised wounds" to the neck. They declared her death as a homicide. Reportedly, one of the wounds was so deep that it almost went to the back of the child's neck. Simone Austin, 27, the girl's mother was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder after she walked up to the police at the crime scene.
