Meryl Streep Turns 70, 'Big Little Lies' Actors Share Heartfelt Birthday Tribute For Legendary Co-star

On June 22, Meryl turned 70 and her fellow 'Big Little Lies' actors including others like Cher and Ellen Degeneres wished her.

Yesterday, the legendary actress Meryl Streep turned 70 and her Hollywood friends made sure to congratulate her in the sweetest way possible. Her current co-stars from the hit HBO series Big Little Lies did not shy away from expressing their love and wishes for the iconic actor on social media. The three-time Oscar winner joined the team for the second installment of the series where we see in the role of Mary Louise, the mother-in-law of Celeste, played by Nicole Kidman.

Now, Mary is definitely not a big fan of Witherspoon's character Madeline in the series but thankfully in real life, the team of powerful women gets along pretty well. They have nothing but love for each other. Reese Witherspoon, 43, took to Instagram to post a throwback picture of Streep accompanied by an endearing message.

The post read: Happy Birthday, Meryl! Sending so much birthday love to this talented creature! What a privilege and an honor to work with you on @biglittlies! (Check out my Insta-story if you want to see the cast of BLL share their favorite #merylstreep movies!) She then posted a series of videos on her Instagram story where the show's cast members including actors like  Zoë Kravitz who plays the character of Bonnie and Madeline's TV husband Ed played by Adam Scott were seen celebration Streep's birthday while filming season two last year.

Each of the actors was seen naming their favorite movies of the actress. The list contained some of the best movies of all times like Out of Africa, Sophie's Choice, Kramer vs. Kramer, Defending Your Life and The Devil Wears Prada. Witherspoon also posted a group picture along with her lady co-stars and wrote alongside the photo: We love you, Meryl! Another fellow Laura Dern who plays Renata in the series dramatically declared Streep's birthday on June 22 to be an internation holiday!

She posted a pretty selfie of the two with broad smiles plastered across their faces. And in the Instagram post, she wrote: This girl became my legend. And I do declare today an international holiday. Muse Day! Here here! Then I actually got to not only meet my hero but work with her. I thank the Gods. #merylstreep. Apart from her BLL co-stars, there were others like Cher who wished her the best.

The 72-year-old Mamma Mia costar wrote on Twitter: MY DARLING (LOVE) MARY LOUISE, HAPPY (BIRTHDAY!) YOU ARE (LIGHT) YEARS AHEAD OF ALL OF US,…YOU ARE A (QUEEN), YOU ARE MY FRIEND. Amidst all the overdosage of sweetness, Ellen DeGeneres decided to set the balance right with a hilarious tweet. The 61-year-old television host wrote: Happy birthday, Meryl Streep! I’m so glad you’re my friend and extra glad you’re not my mother-in-law. #BigLittleLies.

Elizabeth Warren, who shares her birthday with Streep wished the actress. Although she has been very busy with her campaign after she recently announced her candidacy for the 2020 presidential elections she managed to personally wish Meryl Streep over a call. Warren's Special assistant, Nora Kate Keefe tweeted a post informing the same reported PEOPLE.

She wrote: @ewarren⁩ is ready to celebrate her birthday with South Carolina today. but first thing’s first – a call to her birthday twin, Meryl Streep! The post was accompanied by a picture if Senator Warren speaking over the phone with Streep on Saturday.
