Ever since Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, online trollers have been wondering about one thing- Will First Lady Melania Trump decorate the White House for Christmas before leaving the iconic residence? Well, as it turns out the 50-year-old will be taking charge of decorating the "People’s House" in Washington, D.C. one last time. After secretly recorded audiotapes revealed last month that Melania was not very keen on fulfilling these duties, people assumed that the FLOTUS would try to shrug off the responsibility of decorating the White House for Christmas if Donald Trump loses the election to President-elect Joe Biden, which ultimately happened.

However, a representative for the First Lady told TMZ that Melania indeed had plans to decorate 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue once again this year for Christmas, keeping with the tradition. A spokesperson also told PEOPLE that Mrs. Trump is "looking forward to once again opening the People’s House for Christmas," next month. "It is an annual tradition that she has enjoyed designing since June," said the first lady's press secretary and chief of staff Stephanie Grisham. "The decor will be showcased and celebrated across the country in December," she added.

Although the custom has been observed by First Ladies for decades, this time we know that Melania does not necessarily like doing it, thanks to her former White House aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. Mrs. Trump’s longtime friend Wolkoff, shared these audiotapes with CNN last month as she was promoting her tell-all book, Melania & Me. Melania could be heard disregarding the holiday traditions carried out by a First Lady. "I'm working ... my a-- off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f--- about the Christmas stuff and decorations?" she was heard saying. "But I need to do it, right?"

At the time, Melania was frustrated about being condemned for her husband's policy that separated families who illegally crossed the border while trying to perform her traditional duties of making sure that the Christmas preparations are done, reports CNN. "They say I'm complicit. I'm the same like him, I support him. I don't say enough I don't do enough where I am," she said. "OK, and then I do it and I say that I'm working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, 'Oh, what about the children that they were separated?' Give me a f****** break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that? I can not go, I was trying get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn't have a chance -- needs to go through the process and through the law," she added.

Following the release of these audio clips, Mrs. Trump castigated Wolkoff, saying her conversations released by her former aide were taken "out of context." Furthermore, she criticized Wolkoff's memoir saying it only contains "idle gossip trying to distort my character." Even though Mrs. Trump plans on going ahead with the decorations as her husband continues refusing to concede despite losing the election to President-elect Joe Biden, Netizens doesn't seem to be very happy about it. While some criticized Melania's ghastly taste when it comes to Christmas decorations, a few of them thought it would be best if she started packing instead of focusing too much on the duties that she doesn't even like to begin with.
