Taking a cue from his owner's kind gesture towards a stray cat that would come by, Hades graciously offered his kennel when it was time for her to deliver.
Pit bulls more often than not tend to have a bad rep. They are seen as aggressive, intimidating and unfriendly, but that is just an unfortunate stereotype. This sweet doggo named Hades has also been subjected to some discrimination, but Hades recently proved what really matters, according to The Dodo. Hades lives in Mexico with his owner, Juan José P. Flores. For as long as Flores can remember, a stray cat has been frequenting his neighborhood.
Flores never could get close to her, but he made sure to leave some food out for her, lest she got hungry. People say that dogs mimic their owner, and Hades seemed to have picked up on Flores' kind gesture and decided to lend a helping hand himself. A few days ago, Flores was at home when he heard knocking at the back door where Hades likes to hang out. Flores thought it was a person, but it was actually his pup. Hades was knocking on the door because there was apparently something very important that he had to share with his owner. "He was desperate and making a lot of noise," Flores said.

So, Flores stepped out to check what the matter was, and that's when he noticed his loving dog had guests over at his dog house. And who was that guest? The stray cat that Flores left food for. As it turns out, she was pregnant and in need of a safe place to deliver her babies. Hades knew just the right spot. "I was very surprised," Flores said. You'd think Hades would get on with his business after making sure the cat had a safe and secure place to deliver her babies, but he didn't leave her side. Instead, he patiently waited while she went into labor.
"He dragged a blanket over to the entrance of his house and settled outside the door," Flores said. "She felt protected by him." As Hades protected and watched over her during her most vulnerable moment, the cat gave birth to two beautiful kittens. Who would have thought that a cat and dog could have such a bond? "I think he felt that he was a father," Flores said. He also added that the cat and her kittens have been moved into the house, so he and Hades can keep a constant eye on them. The cat, now named Nicol, has been spending a lot of time with Hades, when she is not busy with her babies, added Flores.
Hades rests easy knowing that they're nearby and safe. When it's time, Flores says he will help find forever homes for the kittens. However, Nicol has found a permanent spot for herself with Hades and Flores. He hopes that Hades' actions will cause a change of thinking about his breed, and perhaps even inspire others by the kindness in his heart. "Pit bulls are good dogs," Flores said. "Hades put everything aside to help someone else. We should do the same without expecting anything in return." This truly shows just how loving and considerate Pit bulls can be.
