Father João Paulo Araujo Gomes who is the head of the parish of Santana in the city of Gravatá in Brazil tries his best to help stray dogs find a forever home. He does the kindest and most inspiring thing for them. He's opened the doors of his church to these poor souls that have no place to call home and they become a part of his service. This works in two ways. People will definitely attend mass if they know dogs are involved and some kind-hearted people who do attend mass could be convinced to take one of them home so that they have a place to call home instead of living on the streets.
Dogs are a man's best friend and providing them with a place to stay is going to benefit both the dog and the person who adopts them. Trust me when I say this, but owning a dog is a joy that just can't be explained. Your life will be filled with so much laughter and joy that there's nothing that can beat the feeling. There's just so much love that the pupper will shower you with, and that really is something no human can match up to.
Father João Paulo is housing stray dogs in his rectory so that they stay away from the dangers of the streets. So, he brings the adorable doggos to the church, hoping that people who attend the mass will notice them. So, every Sunday, he ensures the dogs are the center of attraction. He gets them to stay put right in front of the altar where they make people fall in love with them, thanks to their puppy dog eyes.
But, dogs will always be dogs and will need those scratches and belly rubs occasionally, and Father João Paulo is not one to disappoint. They will always be able to enter, sleep, eat, drink their water and find shelter and protection, for this house is of God and they are of God. Father João Paulo wrote on Facebook. He also urged church attendees to bring along with them people who are willing to adopt these dogs and take them home.
Most dogs on the street are neglected and ignored, and when they are rescued, they are mostly in need of desperate help. Father João Paulo takes good care of them, feeds them and provides all the necessary medical treatment. Their spectacular recovery is evidence that a little bit of love with them can go a long way and they will love and protect you till the end of their life in return.
All thanks to the priest’s actions, the number of abandoned dogs on the streets of Gravatá, which initially has 228,000 inhabitants, has reduced extensively. Dozens of stray dogs have already found loving homes where they are cherished. In fact, the kind-hearted priest couldn’t help but adopt some himself. "I helped several dogs with serious health problems. Some of them I brought to the parish house and they were later adopted. Three of them stayed with me. Today, they are my children and sleep in my bed," the Father told Bored Panda.
