A Twitter user shared an experience from his childhood that tells us so much about Keanu Reeves being a good man.
When you come across the name Keanu Reeves on the internet you know it's going to be nothing but good. The famous Hollywood actor has earned several titles and critical acclaim for his acting skills. Although he's a huge name in the industry he has always maintained a down-to-earth personality that makes people love him all the more. Recently a fan of his tweeted a past incident that would make anyone weak at the knees.
In honor of John Wick 3 I have a Keanu Reeves story.— James Dator (@James_Dator) May 17, 2019
The Twitter user named @James_Dator recalls meeting the Canadian actor when he was just 16 years old. He begins by writing: In honor of John Wick 3 I have a Keanu Reeves story. Dator then recalls how Keanu had come to watch a movie at the Sydney-based theatre, the same place he worked at. It happened in 2011 when the actor was busy working on his Matrix series. The John Wick actor decided to stop by this movie theatre on a Wednesday morning, when "almost nobody" watches movies.
I’m working the box office, bored as hell and suddenly this dude walks up in jeans, a leather jacket and a horse riding helmet. A full ass, weird equestrian looking helmet. It takes me a solid 30 seconds to ignore the helmet and realize it’s Keanu Reeves— James Dator (@James_Dator) May 17, 2019
He then continues by explaining how bored he was that particular afternoon when a man (which is Keanu obviously) walks up to him wearing a pair of jeans, teamed with a leather jacket and a rather weird "equestrian looking helmet." Of course, you would recognize an actor you adore as soon as you lay eyes on him, or probably not in the Twitter user's case. It took him about thirty whole seconds to realize that guy in a strange hat was Keanu.
Like any other fan, he was dazed by his presence. As the scene unfolded, it turned out that he was there to watch From Hell a movie starring Johnny Depp, which follows a psychic police detective investigating the murders committed by Jack the Ripper. So, Dator knew better than to just let this opportunity to get his autograph pass. While he longed for his signature he also didn't want to come off to uncool and so he offered him an employee discount which required him to sign his sheet.
Unfortunately, that plan went for a toss, when a confused Keanu replied that he couldn't avail the discount as he wasn't an employee there. The narrator remembers "kicking" himself for not being direct and asking for his autograph when he had the chance. Surprisingly, he heard a knock on the door which he uses to enter the box office. There he saw Keanu standing with a piece of paper in his hand. "I realized you probably wanted my autograph," said the actor placing a signed receipt in his hand, and continued, "So I signed it."
“I don’t work here,” Keanu says. Seemingly confused by my offer. I’m flustered and just charge him the normal price. Kicking myself after for not getting his autograph— James Dator (@James_Dator) May 17, 2019
Dator observed as The Matrix actor walked towards the hall, throwing an ice cream cone in the trash can on his way in. On checking the receipt he discovered that Keanu bought the ice cream just so he could get a piece of paper in the form of a receipt in order to provide a 16-year-old an autograph. Of course, the Canadian actor didn't have to go to this length just to make a teenager's day but he did it anyway. This tweet received many likes and retweets by people who couldn't stop praising the Keanu.
I realize later that he bought an ice cream cone he didn’t want, just to get receipt paper so he could scribble his autograph for a 16-year-old idiot.— James Dator (@James_Dator) May 17, 2019
Of course, this wasn't the only time he did something which was in another's interest. On March 23, 2019, the actor was on his way to Burbank, California from San Francisco when the flight had to make an emergency landing in Bakersfield owing to a "mechanical indication", reported Huffington Post. Instead of getting on a luxurious car leaving the others behind the Speed star chose to take leave with people who were stranded there as well.
THIS ENTIRE IG STORY ABOUT KEANU IS *italian chef’s kiss* PERFECTION ⭐️ pic.twitter.com/3rgPTkc3GV— Ari Saperstein (@ari_saperstein) March 24, 2019
According to the news outlet, he conferred with the other travelers and arranged for a bus (which was more like a van, to be honest) and set out to reach his desired destination. In a few clips uploaded by others, we saw how the actor gelled well as he read some fun facts about Bakersfield. To top it he also played "Bakersfield Sound" music for all the passengers. The star was finally seen making his way towards a Carl’s Jr. because hamburgers don't count as junk food according to him.
People couldn't stop praising the actor for it and there were some who shared their experience as well.
Keanu 4ever. Saw this man sitting on a fire hydrant in NYC. A fucking fire hydrant. & he looked cool doing it. Mustered the courage to speak to him as he’s getting up & he was the nicest guy on the planet. Let me take 2 selfies because my hand was shaking too much the first time. pic.twitter.com/XvQKPix1cX— chris harihar (@chrisharihar) May 18, 2019
There’s a cell phone video of Keanu floating around out there on the Toronto subway (where he is unaware of being filmed) and he notices how full the car is and offers his seat to a woman who was forced to stand.— Matt Godbout (@Habitforming1) May 18, 2019
Someone will likely remember seeing this and post it.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭there are so many of these keanu stories and i will never tire of hearing them!!!!— Amanda Rosenberg (@AmandaRosenberg) May 17, 2019
Shortly after bill and Ted came out, 8 year old me saw him at Newark airport. Went up to him and asked “are you keanu reeves?” “Yea, I am.” He spoke to my older brother and I for 45 minutes and gave us his number. He was awesome to spend that time with. We called but missed him.— toflo (@tonyflohr) May 18, 2019
He won me over when I read an interview of him where he just came right out and said, "I'm not a smart guy." OK, probably not entirely true, but back then his film gigs would lead one to agree (whoa!). He defused all the potential gotchas right there. And THAT was VERY smart.— 🎆💮𝔅𝔯𝔦𝔱𝔭𝔬𝔭𝔱𝔞𝔯𝔱𝔰💮🎆 (@Britpoptarts) May 18, 2019
