Justin Timberlake Makes Surprise Visit To Children's Hospital In Response To Viral Video 'JT See Me'

Timberlake is said to have even helped one patient celebrate a big milestone: ringing a bronze bell, a tradition at the hospital to celebrate finishing a final round of chemotherapy.

The staff and patients at the Methodist's Children's Hospital were in for a surprise when they saw who had dropped by for a visit. They saw that it was none other than Justin Timberlake himself, and they were in for the surprise of their lifetime. The 37-year-old singer/actor was in San Antonio for a show on his Man of the Woods tour, and so he made a halt at the hospital on Friday, a day ahead of his concert on Saturday. “It’s amazing. The kids are so strong, man. It’s inspirational,” Timberlake said in one video shared on social media while at the hospital, reports People

Within a matter of minutes, photos and videos of Justin Timberlake were all over social media, where he could be seen posing with the patients and staff members and even throwing up peace signs with one young fan. Timberlake is said to have even helped one patient celebrate a big milestone: ringing a bronze bell, a tradition at the hospital to celebrate finishing a final round of chemotherapy.

Timberlake made his visit after a video, titled “JT See Me!”, of kids at the hospital where they requested the singer’s presence, and it went viral, garnering over 35,000 views since it was posted on January 15. In the clip, set to Timberlake’s peppy song“Can’t Stop the Feeling!”, the adorable youngsters can be seen dancing and holding up signs saying, “JT See Me!” One appreciative mom named Annabella Lugosi said the former ‘NSYNC member was “so humble” and “took time with each individual child in his or her own room.”

One lucky patient named Maria got the 'VIP' treatment at his concert which she arrived to via limo and had a front-and-center view during. The singer even gave her “a shout-out” during his show, where he pointed right at Maria in one clip and reached down to say hello at another point. “We want to thank Justin Timberlake for visiting with our amazing kids and their families!” the hospital expressed on Facebook alongside a group photo. “We also want to say thank you to YOU! for helping make this possible by sharing and liking their video. #JTSawMe“

This is not the first time that Justin Timberlake has done something nice for the kids. In 2013, five years after he last dropped a song, he finally gave his fans "SexyBack", but he did not keep a penny from the $3Million that he was paid for his long-awaited comeback, reports Huffington Post. He gave an hour-long show in New Orleans on Saturday night for DirecTV's Super Bowl-eve party and was paid $3M for the gig, but he donated all of it to Shriners Hospital for Children.

Back then, his choice of charity made a lot of sense, considering that they kind of had a falling out. The organization announced that it will cut ties with the singer for its annual Las Vegas charity golf tour. The singer initially loaned his name for the "Justin Timberlake Shiners Hospitals for Children" back in 2008.  The hospital said that his association with the hospital helped raise millions of dollars, representatives also said that he wasn't involved all that much with the charity.

"Justin's a wonderful person. But we tried everything we could to get him more involved with our kids and the hospitals,” chairman and Shiners Hospitals trustee Raoul Frevel said. "But it seemed that when the TV cameras weren't on, he disappeared." According to Wikipedia, the Grammy Association presented Timberlake with an award for his humanitarian efforts in Tennessee, alongside writer/director Craig Brewer, also a Memphis native, in 2005.
