"Wow. The power of social media you guys. YOU did this. YOU made my crappy chemo session into something incredibly special and unforgettable," wrote 16-year-old Lily Jordan.
Are you a sucker for the Jonas brothers too? If not, this story about their fan is sure to make your hearts go out for the boy band. Hersheypark Stadium, Hershey, Pennsylvania was the GRAMMY-nominated trio's next stop for their ongoing Happiness Begins Tour. And while the sibling stars were all set to perform on August 31, 2019, they decided to make a quick stop at the Penn State Children's Hospital just so they could make one of the resident patients day a little brighter.
16-year-old Lily Jordan had been desperately waiting for the day when she would get to see her idols perform live. Unfortunately, due to her deteriorating condition, she had to be admitted to the hospital to receive chemotherapy treatment for cancer reported CNN. Posting a selfie of her hospitalized state, she wrote on her Instagram story: I was supposed to be at your Hershey concert tomorrow but instead I'm across the street doing chemo, tagging the Jonas Brother. Jordan then went on to let them on a little secret. She wrote: If y'all wanted to pop in I'll give you my room number.
In addition to this, Jordan requested all her other followers to make her idol singers aware of her request-filled post. Seriously though I wish I was seeing the JoBros so bad so like? Idk tag em or put this on your story or something for lil olf me :,) #lilyseesthejonasbrotherschallenge2019, continued reading the post. And as you all know how netizens seldom shy away from a good old challenge, (especially something with a noble cause) they began sharing Jordan's post and tagging the JoBros in each one of them. Even Scott Perry, Pennsylvania's Representative was one of several people who shared the 16-year-old's story hoping to draw the attention of the Jonas Brothers.
It read: PRAYERS NEEDED! Our good friend Lily is fighting for her life in Hershey tonight, and so badly wanted to see the Jonas Brothers tomorrow night at Hersheypark, but can't because of her urgent treatment, read Perry's post. Furthermore, he wrote: If there is anyway for them to visit her, we are lifting up her hopes and our prayers for help. Her Instagram is @ljsworkinprogress and I’m certain she and her mom, Liz, would appreciate you sharing and sending your words of encouragement. #FightLJFight #Love1Another Jonas Brothers FansClub Oficial JonasBrothers ♥ Hershey Pa Hershey Concerts NickJonas #JonasBrothers
Soon the post went viral and caught the attention of the singing group who decided to stop by Jordan's hospital on Saturday, to surprise her. A video was then posted on the hospital's Facebook page where Kevin Jonas was heard saying, "Thank you for inviting us to come see you." He then informed the teen how his feed was completely filled with the requests her followers had posted! Jordan was seen thanking the brothers for taking out the time to come see her. Speaking of stars, she a;lso got the opportunity of meeting Nick Jonas' wife actress Priyanka Chopra.
Although Jordan could not witness the boy band performing her favorite song S.O.S. at the concert she sure had the time of her life that day. The singers signed autographs for the teen and even posed for a picture with her. Jordan then gave Joe Jonas one of her bracelets and requested him to pass it on to his wife Game Of Thrones star—Sophie Turner. Posting the pictures of the surprise visit, Jordan took to Instagram to express her gratitude towards all her followers and other Instagram and Facebook users whose effort made her dream a reality.
