Former first lady Michelle Obama appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, March 16, to promote her upcoming Netflix series Waffles + Mochi. During the interview that lasted about 17 minutes, the two of them spoke about a lot of things including quarantining with the former president and the kids. In the sixth minute of the interview, the host reminded her about a question he had asked her several years ago during a stop on her book tour in Tacoma, Washington.

"A couple of years ago, I interviewed you in Tacoma, Washington, in front of a big group of people, you were on your book tour, and we had a great talk, it was a lot of fun, and everyone was very excited to see you," Kimmel said. "And I asked you a question that night — I actually asked your husband this question as well, and he kicked it back to you. I asked you that on the night that SEAL Team Six took out Osama Bin Laden at your husband’s order — did you and your husband make love that night to celebrate?"  Kimmel continued.

The talk show host was talking about the al-Qaeda leader's death in May 2011, as per Entertainment Tonight. Michelle Obama simply chuckled and responded that for "some very sick reason" he only wanted to know what happened behind closed curtains that night.

"You know, I have to tell your audience that for some very sick reason, you are very obsessed with this portion of that major, historical event in a way that no one else—no one, in the history of all the conversations I've had, has anybody drilled down on this particular point like you, Jimmy Kimmel. So I turn that back on you." He replied by saying, "That's my version of self-reflection." She continued, "That's what you want to know. You're still that little boy in your bedroom, under the cover with the flashlight, going, I hope nobody sees me." He added, "Yeah, actually, it was a propane torch; that's why the house burned down." As for her answer, the author said, "I'm still pleading the fifth on that."

According to Breitbart, this was the third time he'd bombarded the Obamas with this question. The first two were directed at Michelle, but the last one was during Obama's October 2020 appearance on the late-night show. "I asked this question of your wife, I interviewed her in Tacoma last year, and she told me — she said, 'The next time I see you I’ll tell you the answer, and I will tell you a story.'"

"But I haven’t seen her. So, on the night you did kill Bin Laden, did you and Michelle make love?" Kimmel asked the former president. While he didn't answer the question directly, he told Kimmel that his wife was probably asleep the time Bin Laden was killed. "I suspect that she was asleep," Barack answered. "Because the truth of the matter is, most of the time, by the time I was done working, she’d be snoozing. Michelle goes to bed about 9 o’clock."

Unsurprisingly, this line of questioning didn't go down well with people who believe he's crossed the line. Christine Vadakara stated: Jimmy’s weird as hell for asking Michelle about her sex life like that.DisneyGirl 4life added: It was cringey and disturbing Like seriously that’s not appropriate to ask any woman on television Even if she was just a regular guest and not a former First Lady you DO NOT ask that It’s unprofessional. Bender Rodriguez noted: You could see how red he was getting when she flipped the stupid question on him. You don't ask a first lady that.

You cant watch the whole video here. His awkward question comes in at the 6-minute mark.
