Alba announced on Thursday that she will be making a massive donation of baby care products to help out desperate parents in this time of need.
As a mother-of-three, Jessica Alba is well aware of the unique struggles and concerns haunting parents during these difficult times. With the novel Coronavirus raging across the globe, childcare has become much more challenging than usual. Having to provide for and taking care of their little ones when the job market has taken a substantial hit due to the ongoing crisis, it is taking a toll on countless parents as they now face a very uncertain future. Knowing that their troubles have been made worse by panic-buyers wiping out essential items such as diapers, baby formula, and hand sanitizers from stores, the Fantastic Four actress is doing her bit to help out in any way she can.
I just saw a video of a mom crying In Walmart bc there’s no diapers for her baby anywhere. And someone had the AUDACITY to tell her to stop crying and figure it out. Alba announced on Thursday that she would be making a massive donation of baby care products to help out desperate parents in this time of need. Sharing the news on Instagram, the 38-year-old revealed that she has pledged to donate a whopping 3 million diapers and tens of thousands of other baby supplies to Baby2Baby—a non-profit that provides diapers, clothes and other necessities for children in poverty in the Los Angeles area and in disaster areas across the country.
Snuggling with my littles feeling grateful and emotional as we’ve been adjusting to this new normal -I can’t help but think of all the families with babies & young children who aren’t getting what they need to get by, Alba wrote. My company @honest pledged today to donate 3M diapers 20k personal care products and 30k wipes to @baby2baby -but the need for these families includes so much more. The organization thanked the actress on its Instagram stories for her kind gesture in these current circumstances, writing: Thank you to our friends at Honest for your incredible pledge of 3 million diapers, 30,000 packs of wipes, and 20,000 hygiene items.
Earlier this month, the organization gave a shout out to Alba's The Honest Company for all its support in the past years, writing: A huge shout out to our friends at @Honest who have supported Baby2Baby since day one. Over the last 8 years, they have donated millions of basic essentials including diapers, wipes and hygiene items to the children we serve across the country. Thank you for your continued dedication to our mission.
According to PEOPLE, this isn't the first time the actress made a similarly substantial donation of diapers to Baby2Baby. In honor of Mother’s Day in 2018, Alba and The Honest Company donated 1.5 million diapers to the non-profit. "At The Honest Company, we’re devoted to empowering people to live happy, healthy lives. A mother should never have to choose between feeding her children and buying diapers. Baby2Baby helps new mothers so they don’t have to make that impossible decision, and we can’t think of a better charitable partner for The Honest Company," the star said at the time.
"The Honest Company and Baby2Baby share a joint mission to improve the lives of families everywhere," added Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein, co-presidents of Baby2Baby. "Baby2Baby is grateful for The Honest Company’s dedication to drive change in the community — together we will help a lot of families around the United States."
