Jennifer Lawrence And Cooke Maroney Are Engaged, Actor Spotted With Huge Rock After Saying 'YES'

JLaw has only been dating Cooke Maroney for a short while now, but when the time is right, you gotta take the plunge!

It seems like wedding fever is still not done in Hollywood, with yet another celebrity announcing that they are engaged! Yes, Jennifer Lawrence is officially engaged to boyfriend Cooke Maroney! According to USA Today, the couple was introduced by Lawrence's friend, Laura Simpson. Jennifer Lawrence needs no introduction. But who exactly is Cooke Maroney? According to ELLE, Maroney is a New York City-based art gallerist who grew up in Vermont, and Maroney's parents, James Maroney and Suki Fredericks, own an Oliver Hill Farm in Leicester, Vermont. It seems that Maroney's parents got tired of raising him in the city and decided to make the move to Vermont. Before the move, Maroney's father was an art dealer in Manhattan and previously served as the Head of American Paintings at Christie's before trying to adapt to a more simplistic way of life. Maroney also has a younger sister named Annabelle.

And Maroney did follow in his father's footsteps. He currently serves as the director of New York City's Gladstone art gallery, which boasts a list of high profile clients. According to The Cut, he's previously worked with painter Carroll Dunham and Björk’s ex-boyfriend, sculptor Matthew Barney. Before he worked at Gladstone, he worked at Gagosian gallery after he completed his NYU art history degree. He already seemed to have a fair share of celebrities in his life.

Maroney loves to party and is no stranger to the party scene! "He’s definitely fun-loving but I wouldn’t say he’s out of control," a source said. "He likes to have fun, a young good New York guy who likes to participate and have fun. When we would hang out, we would definitely drink, we would have fun." But, even though he loves to have fun and let loose at times, he likes to keep things in control and does everything in moderation.

He's not a very socially active person, though. No, not in real life, he is not active on social media at all. He seems to have no accounts on Facebook and Twitter, and all he does have is a private Instagram account that doesn't have too many followers, either. While Lawrence and Maroney haven't spoken publicly about their relationship, sources have told tabloids that what they have is exceptional. "She is smiling as I have never seen her with any of her previous boyfriends," a source told People in August.

Us Weekly, meanwhile, reported in January that Lawrence and Maroney were very committed. "Things between them are very serious," a source told the outlet. "They definitely appear to be in it for the long haul." Also, he's a tall chap. Jennifer Lawrence herself is around 5'9' and he is a lot taller than she is, which means he should be somewhere around 6'4" and that is pretty tall! Jennifer won't have to stop wearing her heels!

"He’s not a showboat, it’s not like he’s a celebrity hound or even a model hound," a source added to The Cut. "He just likes beautiful women." He's also a really nice guy! People described him alternately as "a nice-slash-fun dude," a "great dude", and "an all-around good guy and a nice guy". "The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together," a source told Page Six.

But with this news, does this mean that John Mayer will have his heart broken? Seemed like he had a thing for Jennifer Lawrence back in the day. "You’re friends with Jennifer Lawrence, who just, she doesn’t wanna have anything to do with me. I don’t have the greatest track record when it comes to celebrity relationships," John Mayer opened up to Andy Cohen during an episode of Watch What Happens Live, reported HuffPost. With all said and done, congratulations are in order for the happy couple!
