The 21-year-old rapper steps up and caters to the people in need through his 'I Love You Restaurant' food truck.
Amidst Jaden Smith's plans to embark upon the IGOR tour alongside fellow artist and friend Tyler, The Creator, the 21-year-old has managed to take some time out to drop his brand new album ERYS containing his single 'Again' on July 4 and then announce his very own vegan pop-up a food truck for the homeless just three days after. This philanthropic gesture by this young celebrity has got everyone talking. Jaden, who lovingly named his truck 'I Love You Restaurant', gave the homeless people in Skid Row, Los Angeles a brilliant surprise.
The truck first opened its window for the homeless population residing in Los Angeles on Sunday. The truck that was open for a day aimed at serving "healthy, vegan food for free" to the homeless people in Skid Row, which is considered to be one of the largest areas populated with homeless people in the country. Launching this truck, Jade posted an Instagram picture with the caption: The @ILoveYouRestaurant Is A Movement That Is All About Giving People What They Deserve, Healthy, Vegan Food For Free. Today We Launched Our First One Day Food Truck Pop-Up in Downtown LA. Keep A Look Out Because This Is The First Of Many #JADENin

Although the healthy vegan food distribution lasted just one day, people can surely expect some more as the 21-year-old rapped mentioned that this food truck venture was indeed the "first of many." The following day, the young singer shared a video on Instagram which revealed the proof of his good deeds. People in desperate need of food were seen lining up in front of the truck to get one of the paper bag packages. If you check out the 'I Love You Restaurant' Instagram account, you will surely find pictures that will give you a closer look at the food truck.
In one of the pictures, you will be able to observe how the bowls called 'I Love You Bowls' contain healthy salad ingredients. It's all legit! Now, homelessness still remains a huge issue plaguing the lives of many in the States. The number of people is much larger in cities like Los Angeles. And while many celebrities have done their part to rid the place of this nationwide crisis, it seems like Jaden Smith has finally taken notice of the same. Measuring the seriousness of this impending problem he used his power to do as much as he can to be of service to the people.
This is definitely not the first time that Jaden Smith has used his power and influence to help solve social issues that have been wreaking havoc in the lives of many. With the help of his foundation, JUST goods, the star launched a mobile water filtration system called 'The Water Box' in March, reports Entertainment Weekly. Collaborating with the First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, the rapper explained how this filtration system would help "reduce heavy metals like lead and eliminate harmful bacteria from the water" of Flint, Michigan, a city that has been suffering from gross water contamination ever since 2014.
Jaden Smith successfully created the Flint water box project and now the “I Love You” food truck for the homeless. If you ask me, he’s doing more for the people than our actual “government”.— CEO SHAY 💅🏾 (@im_perfectionn) July 8, 2019
After the second 'Water Box' was made, he surprised Ellen DeGeneres on her show and made a donation in her name. Back in 2016, Jaden received an award at Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event. Speaking about his will to help the environment he said, "My name is Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, and the way that I like to give back to the world is through the environment because the way that the earth is going now… it is taking us to a breaking point where we almost might not be able to survive."

Several people praised parents Will and Jada Pinkett Smith for inculcating such noble values in their kids. Pinkett ,who herself won the Trailblazer Award at this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards pertaining to her philanthropic activities told PEOPLE, "As much as people got on me in regards to having them work early, I did not want them to grow up thinking that because they were in the midst of affluence that they did not have to grind or work hard on their own."

"These hours, this work ethic, you have to be on time. I think also they had to start their charity lifestyle very early, [at] 5 years old they were in the orphanages at homeless shelters," she continued. "They got to see that there’s life beyond all the twinkles and lights. That was really important to me, that they understood that listen you guys are really privileged and you are to learn how to offer and offer yourself and be in service to the world," she continued. "I think Will and I always led with that." Here's what people thought of Jaden Smith's selfless gesture:

First Flint with water, now giving away free food to the homeless...this kid was raised wonderfully by his parents. He's taking his celebrity and money and doing good, plus he's working on projects in Africa to help in impoverished regions.
