Jada Pinkett Smith has finally opened up about her affair with singer August Alsina while she was still married to Will Smith. The mother-of-two sat down with her husband on her Facebook show Red Table Talk and began by saying how they normally prefer keeping these matters private but this time felt the need to be transparent. "I know there's a lot of stuff going on in the world right now, even though this is minuscule, I do feel like it's these kinds of things that create the world we're in," said Jada. During the intimate conversation, the 48-year-old confessed that she had developed a friendship with R&B artist August Alsina, 27, some years ago, and admitted to having an affair with him.

She started by explaining how the married couple was going through a "difficult time" and had "basically broken up." Will expressed how he felt like they could be over, to which Jada affirmed, "Yeah, no, we were over." So, the couple had decided to take some time off each other and that's when they met Alsina who was their son Jaden's friend and would have been 23 at the time. Apparently, the Louisiana-born singer was "really sick" and Jada who wanted to help him cope with his health issues slowly developed a friendship with him. "It all started with him just needing some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state," she said.

"The outpouring for him from our family was initially about his health," Will continued. "We found all those different resources to help pull him through and from there you and I were going through a very difficult time," Jada chimed in. The Men In Black actor admitted that he was done with his wife and she added that they had decided to separate for a period of time. "And then what did you do, Jada?" asked Will urging his wife to continue. "As time went on, I got into a different type of entanglement with August," she explained.

The shocking revelation comes following Alsina's recent interview with Angela Lee on YouTube where the artist claimed that he had an affair with The Matrix Reloaded actress, with her husband's blessing, reports Daily Mail. 'I sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership… he gave me his blessing," said Alsina, adding that he was in love with Jada. He went on to say that two became very close and even went on a holiday with the family a year later and also attended the 2017 BET Awards together. "I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her," he continued.

"I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it, so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody," expressed Alsina. "I know that I am completely blessed and this conversation is difficult because it is so much, that it would be hard for people to understand but, once it starts to affect me and my livelihood, I have to speak up about my truth." But these allegations were branded "wrong" by Will's representatives and a spokesperson for Jada also denied the claims. Soon Jada tweeted about bringing herself to The Red Table.

During the explosive tell-all, Jada clarified that "The only person that can give permission in that circumstance is me." Responding to Alsina's claims about Will's permission, she continued, "But what August was probably trying to communicate because I could see how he could see it as permission because we were separated amicably, and I think he wanted to make it clear he's not a homewrecker because he's not." Furthermore, she revealed "I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken. In the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can't find happiness outside yourself." That's why she began a relationship with the Song Cry singer saying, "I just wanted to feel good, It had been so long since I felt good... and it was really a joy to just help heal somebody."

When Jada began realizing certain things about Will and herself, she claimed that Alsina "decided to break all communication with her". "[It] was totally understandable. And I let that be and hadn't talked to him since so it is a little weird that all this stuff is coming out now since this was several [years ago]," she added. Will also reaffirmed their commitment to each other and said, "We have really gotten to that new place of unconditional love." Referring to Will's Bad Boys franchise, at some point they echoed each other saying, "We ride together. We die together. Bad marriage for life."
