In other words, dogs are too precious and have nothing but unlimited love to give. We don't deserve them.
Just in case you needed any more reasons to love dogs, here's a little something. A homeless man was recently rushed to a hospital because he had a stroke and even though he doesn't have a permanent shelter to call his home, he has six best friends with furry tails who were beyond worried for him. As the hospital ambulance carried the man, all the six dogs got worked up and followed it until they all reached the hospital. And, knowing that they have taken him inside to fix their human, the doggos waited outside the hospital, patiently, for 24 hours.
Luiz, the homeless man, was admitted in Santa Casa Hospital in Cianorte, Brazil, and while the doctors were checking him up, his dogs refused to leave the premises and kept waiting for him to return. The hospital workers saw the dogs chasing the ambulance and filmed the heartwarming scene. They were panting but they didn't stop to take a breather until they reached the hospital.
After reaching, all six of them sat outside the hospital door, waiting for their human. The hospital authorities had to call an animal welfare group to aid the worried dogs and feed them. Volunteers from Amigos de Patas Cianorte, a nongovernment organization came to the scene and provided the dogs with food while praising their loyalty. The dogs waited through the night and the picture of them went viral.
Nearby people revealed that Luiz has been living on the streets since the last twenty years. He and his six dogs have become a usual sight. His family has offered him housing and tried to move him from Cianorte streets multiple times only to get turned down by him. Luiz prefers living on the road with his six best friends, his true family, who is always there for him, evidently.
"When we defend animals some say we are valuing animals too much and decreasing the human being but what about this image? Mr. Luiz many know in cianorte, a street dweller by choice because there have been attempts to shelter him but he did not want to. He lives with his friends of paws and treats them very well, shares everything with them," Amigos de Patas Cianorte couldn't help but write about the heartfelt story.
"He lives with his friends of paws and treats them very well, shares everything with them. This night he had a stroke and was taken by the samu to the holy house, his friends of paws accompanied him and stayed to the cries on the outside, there they remain in vigil I'm sure just like me you felt something you can't describe. We hope to restore your health Mr Luiz so that your friends will have your company again," they wrote further.
Luiz was discharged the next day and his brother came to see him. However, he had to exit from a different door and the dogs, unaware of the same, kept on waiting and became desperate. Simone Ziliane, a volunteer with Amigos de Patas Cianorte told Brazilian publication G1, "When Luiz was discharged and left with his brother through another door, the dogs remained at the hospital entrance. One of the volunteers from the NGO had to fetch Luiz at his brother's house and take him to where the dogs were for them to leave the front."
Finally, Luiz and his family met and even though we didn't get to see the reunion we're sure it would've brought tears to the eyes of anyone who was watching. Luiz's six dogs proved how much they love him and that he would do anything for him. So pure and unconditional, a dog's love is beyond words. Give them a little bit of your attention and they'll give you their hearts for until they live. Dogs are the angels we don't deserve.
