A couple from Texas has been charged with murder and arrested for allegedly forcing a little girl to jump up and down on a trampoline in intense heat, causing the child to die, as per PEOPLE. She was forced to jump on the trampoline for so long that she died due to extreme dehydration. Daniel and Ashley Schwarz were charged with capital murder on Monday for the death of 8-year-old Jaylin Anne. The couple had been raising the girl. Daniel, 44, and Ashley, 34, were both arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center, Odessa police said in a statement on Monday.

The Odessa police revealed that an investigation was opened after officers were called to the Schwarz's home on August 29 and found Jaylin "deceased on scene." The investigation "revealed that the 8-year-old child had been punished and was not allowed to eat breakfast and was required to jump on the trampoline without stopping for an extended period of time. Further investigation revealed that the 8-year-old child was not allowed to drink any water because she was "not jumping." The temperature of the trampoline "read to be approximately 110 degrees and the ground was approximately 150 degrees," police said.

The highest temperature in Odessa on August 29 was 103 degrees, according to Accuweather.com. Jaylin's final autopsy revealed the cause of death to be dehydration and her manner of death was ruled as a homicide. The little one's obituary reads: Jaylin was born on November 10, 2011, in Rockwall, Texas to David Retherford and Alysha Anderton. Jaylin was full of life, loved horseback riding, ice skating, and all things outdoors. She loved all people and animals, and was very interested in history and science.  Jaylin leaves behind her parents Daniel and Ashley Schwarz; Chris and Alysha Anderton.

She also leaves behind her siblings Tori and Rhett Graham, Nate Schwarz, and Jayde Schwarz. She also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a nephew. The couple, who were taking care of Jaylin, aren't her biological parents, revealed other members of the family to CBS 7. They were merely her guardians. Her mom shared on Facebook: I have to bury my daughter today. Yesterday was the first time I have been allowed to see her in over 3 years and today is the last time I will see her on earth. She's absolutely beautiful but that's not the same little girl I once remember. It's not fair that I couldn't even recognize my own daughter. Her absence here on earth takes my breath away and my heart has died with her. They took My Sunshine away and my skies are now forever grey. Please say a prayer for me today, this will be the worst day of my entire life.
