Gary Sinise Flew Over 1,000 Children Of Fallen Soldiers To Disneyland For Free

“The most important thing about [Snowball Express] is that these children don’t feel alone. There’s a lot of healing and a lot of bonding and a lot of friendship that goes on that helps them through the rest of the year,” Sinise said.

Good deeds deserve to be recognized, irrespective of who it comes from. Some celebrities have the power to make good things happen for other people and it's always wonderful to see them put their fame to good use. One of those people who dedicate an important part of their lives to help others is Gary Sinise who is an actor as well as a musician. He's also marked his name by doing some great philanthropical work. Sinise, who played the role of Lieutenant Dan in the movie Forest Gump, has spent a lot of time working hard to honor and help US military veterans. He is the man behind the Gary Sinise Foundation which serves the needs of veterans, defenders, first responders, their families, and communities.

“While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation’s defenders, we can always do a little more,” Sinise said. "Snowball Express" is one of the programs that the foundation launched, back in 2017. The program's goal is to honor fallen US soldiers by taking their children on free trips to one of the most magical places on earth—Disneyland. Over 1,750 kids were flown to the theme park in Orlando where they've had the time of their lives.

Children and their surviving parents also received pins that said “we remember” at the event where their fallen family members were honored. 600 flags were also lined up to honor the fallen at the event.  “The most important thing about [Snowball Express] is that these children don’t feel alone. There’s a lot of healing and a lot of bonding and a lot of friendship that goes on that helps them through the rest of the year,” Sinise said.

On the foundation's website, Sinise's note reads: My personal mission is what led to the founding of the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011, and with the help of supporters like you, we will continue to expand this mission in support of our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, and their loved ones, while upholding the importance of keeping our country strong by taking care of those who serve. While our programs and projects have certainly made a difference in many lives, there’s much more work to be done.

A lot of people took to comment about his good deeds on social media. Damian Leon wrote: Gary Sinise, who founded a beautiful foundation for veterans and their families. He is an active supporter of all types of servicemen and women. He’s been made an honorary Army Lt, as well as with the fire and police department. Terri Kozakevich added: He's a fabulous person, a great actor and good looking too!! What he has done for veterans and their families is truly amazing! Maria Meadors Carlock also wrote: And he never wants any recognition for it. Such an amazing man.
