You Can Now Get Paid $1,000 Just To Binge-Watch 'Friends' For 25 Hours

The TV series is celebrating its 25th anniversary and online retailer Frontier Communications wants to pay someone to sit and watch 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' for one day and an hour

Are you a F.R.I.E.N.D.S superfan? Got 25 hours to spare? Want to win a $1,000 as well as a 12-month Netflix subscription? Well then, looks like you're the perfect candidate for the job. According to NBC New York,  as tribute to the NBC comedy's 25th anniversary,  online retailer Frontier Communications will actually pay a fan to watch 25 hours of the show before it leaves Netflix in 2020. The show starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer ran for 10 seasons on NBC between 1994 and 2004 and has become a cultural TV legend of sorts.


All that person has to do is watch the adventures of Chandler, Phoebe, Ross, Rachel, Monica and Joey in the comforts of their own home and live-tweet throughout the 25 hours. Also, they'd need to post a selfie with their real-life friends. Can you BE any luckier than that? You'll probably have better chances if you have an active Twitter account and a following according to the retailer.


What's even better is that to celebrate the show's 25-year-long running on television, you can now watch the show on the big screen!  According to a report on People, on September23, 28, and October 2, more than 1,000 theaters across the country will feature four episodes per night that have been newly remastered in 4K from the original 35mm camera negative. If you've watched every episode a million times already there's still something a little extra in-store. Each screening will even include exclusive interviews and never-before-seen content!


“The cultural impact that F.R.I.E.N.D.S continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright, and the incredibly talented cast,” said Warner Bros. Television Group President & Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Gregorian. “It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters — for the first time ever! — so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite Friends scenes in a new way.”


And that's not all! If you're a F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan in New York, you should check out the special Friends Pop Up in the city. According to Entertainment Weekly, Superfly, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and Warner Bros. Television Group have come together to produce a month-long, immersive pop-up Friends experience (that also includes a retail store) from September 7 to October 6.
