June, also known as the Pride month, is full of celebrations, and the latest celebrity couple to join the bandwagon is Ellen Page and wife Emma Portner. The oh-so-in-love couple took to social media platform Instagram to share a picture of them. In their own way of celebrating Pride month, Page and Portner posed topless for a photo that Page posted on her official Instagram account, reports CNN. The photograph simply said: HAPPY PRIDE!!! Sending love ❤️🌈. The Juno actor came out in 2014, and she made the announcement in a very public manner.
"I'm here today because I am gay. And because... maybe I can make a difference," Page announced, during an emotional speech in Vegas. "I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out." She said she learned a lot from other people who publically announced their sexual orientation. "We deserve to experience love fully, equally, without shame and without compromise," she told the crowd.
In February, Page did an interview, where she spoke about being fed up. During "The Late Show Stephen Colbert", Page revealed that it was hard to not be rattled. "The Vice President of America wishes I didn't have the love with my wife. He wanted to ban that in Indiana," Page said. She also mentioned that Pence's beliefs are only going to make matters worse in the future.
"Connect the dots," Page said. "Kids are going to be abused and they're going to kill themselves and people are going to be beaten on the street." Many LGBTQIA+ individuals face a lot of prejudice and violence against them. "This needs to f***ing stop," Page concluded as she choked up. She was met with a big round of applause from the audience. Coming back to the artistic post, it was met with a lot of positive comments from their followers.
