President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump have tested positive for the Coronavirus and it was confirmed via a Tweet. It read: Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER! Trump's announcement that he'd tested positive comes just hours after he announced that the president's advisor Hope Hicks had the highly contagious virus. Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for COVID 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

On Thursday evening, Trump told Fox News that he and First Lady Melania Trump had undergone tests for Coronavirus after Hicks tested positive. "I just went out for a test ... it will come back later I guess, and the first lady also because we spend a lot of time with Hope," Trump said. He added that they were expecting their results shortly. "So whether we quarantine or whether we have it, I don't know," Trump said. White House spokesman Judd Deere said the president “takes the health and safety of himself and everyone who works in support of him and the American people very seriously," in a statement.

“White House Operations collaborates with the Physician to the President and the White House Military Office to ensure all plans and procedures incorporate current CDC guidelines and best practices for limiting COVID-19 exposure to the greatest extent possible both on complex and when the President is traveling,” Deere said. According to PEOPLE, the President thinks that Hicks may have contracted the virus after interacting with members of law enforcement or the military. "It's very hard when you're with soldiers, when you are with airmen, when you're with the Marines, and the police officers, I'm with them so much."

"And when they come over to you, it's hard to say, 'stay back, stay back.' You know, it's a tough kind of a situation, it's a terrible thing," he said. "I just went for a test, and we'll see what happens. I mean, who knows ... I was surprised to hear with Hope, but she's a very warm person with them." 74-year-old Trump is considered obese, according to an assessment in June by the White House physician, as per the New York Times, faces an increased risk of severe illness from the coronavirus. The CDC had previously warned that older adults with a BMI over 30 will need intensive care if they contract the virus.

Trump testing positive is ironic because several of his family members turned up at the Ohio debate without masks. In fact, Trump also made fun of Biden for wearing one. “He could be speaking 200 feet away and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen,” Trump said, as per HuffPost. At the beginning of the pandemic, Trump had called the virus as Democrats' new hoax. "The Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. They’re politicizing it. One of my people came up to me and said: ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.’ That did not work out too well. They could not do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. This is their new hoax,” said Donald Trump, according to The Guardian.

Trump had suggested earlier that the cure to Coronavirus was to take hydroxychloroquine or ingest bleach. Wondering if he will choose to do this to cure his infection! "I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute,” said Trump, in April, reported The Hill. “One minute! And is there a way we can do something, by an injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that. So, that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me,” he added.
