They have a very attractive menu that includes Jolly Rancher drinks to strawberry margaritas, but nothing really beats “the OG” Dollarita, which is a simple blend of tequila and classic margarita mix on the rocks served in a 10-ounce mug, and you only have to pay them a single dollar bill!
For alcohol lovers, is there anything more beautiful than being offered cheap alcohol! It's like a dream come true, considering how expensive alcohol is. The best part is you get to INDULGE in cheap alcohol for an entire month. Applebee's is bringing back Dollaritas, the $1 margaritas, and they're going to be available for the entire month of May. They have a dedicated fan -following for the cheap cocktails they offer every month, according to People.
“The DOLLARITA taught America that $1 is an unbeatable price for a cocktail. Where else can you find a good Margarita for only $1, all day, every day?” Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage and innovation at Applebee’s, said in a press release. “Some might say this is too good to be true, but to them I say, margaritas never lie.” Participating Applebee's locations nationwide will have the drink throughout the month of May, including Cinco de Mayo, so now you know where to go on May 5.
A lot of people were excited about the return of Dollaritas, while some of them were skeptical, saying they were sure it would not taste good. Some said it would be like watered down margaritas. Yet, people were planning to drop them a visit just to try it out and see how it tastes. Amber Valenzuela told Kandace: looks like we gotta go to Applebee’s again!! Samantha J. told Riley-Smith Patsy: Riley your favorite restaurant & a favorite drink!! #winning.
In January, Applebee's came out with a $2 Captain and Colas. It is a mixture of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and Pepsi served in a 10 oz. mug. “Rum and cola is a classic combination, but we wanted to make it special when we picked it for our next Neighborhood Drink of the Month, so we crafted it with our number one selling rum, Captain Morgan,” Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s said in a press release of the pirate-themed special.
Mardi Gras is widely celebrated and in February this year, Applebee's decided to bring the taste of New Orleans to people who could not travel there. They offered $1 Hurricanes and it includes a fusion of rum, passion fruit, orange, black cherry, and lime. Each Dollar Hurricane comes in a 10-ounce mug, topped with either a masked stirrer or decorative beads to really nail down the Mardi Gras theme.
“The Hurricane cocktail is a classic rum drink with close ties to New Orleans and Mardi Gras,” said Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s. “A Dollar Hurricane is a great reason to celebrate the season and from now until March 5, Applebee’s is going to ‘party like it’s Mardi.’” That’s right, this Drink of the Month will extend into March so guests can still enjoy the deal on Mardi Gras itself.
Also, last year for Halloween, Applebee's went into the holiday spirit, and for the entire month of October, they sold $1 neon “zombie” cocktails. The Dollar Zombie is an electrifying shade of blue and is made with rum, passion fruit, pineapple, cherry and lime then topped with a gummy brain candy in a 10-oz. mug. Imagine carrying around a neon drink with a scary costume. The cherry on top of the cake!
“Halloween is a favorite holiday around here, and we’re excited to offer guests the opportunity to celebrate all month long with our new DOLLAR ZOMBIE,” Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s, said in a statement. “We invite people to get into the spirit early by trying our Neighborhood Drink with an infectious taste. The only thing to fear this Halloween is missing out on this awesome drink.”
