The popular girl band comprising of Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, and Martie Maguire will be releasing an album pretty soon alongside producer Jack Antonoff.
Dixie Chicks' lead singer, Natalie Maines took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the much-awaited news with their loyal fans. They are back! Yes, you heard me right! The band members comprising of Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, and Martie Maguire were joined by producer Jack Antonoff. They have now promised their fans a new album through Maines’ Instagram account. When released, it will mark the American group's first album after their long hiatus of 13 years.
Although the famous band did not specify the date, they did post a video teasing the fans of the same. The whole video was shot using the popular "Baby" filter, and the first artist to appear in the frame was Maines.
She exclaims, "Dixie Chicks!" after which the camera turns towards her fellow band members, Emily Robison, and Martie Maguire who continue by saying "Album" and "Coming." Finally, it ends which their producer Antonoff adding, "Someday."
Of course, none of the Dixie Chicks fans could possibly keep their calm after being teased about the possible launch of a music album featuring their favorite artists. According to Entertainment Weekly, the group's supporters have been speculating a potential album in the making ever since Maines shared multiple pictures of Antonoff last year.
The caption of this Instagram post read: Fiddle face. @jackantonoff #dcx2018. Their fans have been tormented for almost a year now. It all started with the artists' posting a few cryptic images on Instagram starting from June 24 last year.
One of them featured an almost empty wine glass, which was balanced on a keyboard inside a recording studio. This post had a question mark for the caption. Another picture that caught everyone's attention was the three sneaker-clad, women feet with the hashtag #Sneaks.
Of course, one could not help but anticipate a possible comeback of the popular girl band. The last time their fans got the opportunity to hum their latest venture was in 2006. Apart from topping charts their album Taking the Long Way went on to win the prestigious Grammy for Best Country Album and Album of the Year.
According to reports, this particular record was written keeping the surge of controversy surrounding the artists in mind. Prior to this, the whole thing spiraled out of control during their Texas concert in 2003. Addressing the then President of the United States, George Bush, they expressed how "ashamed" they were of him.
In response to the major backlash, they even appeared in 2003 May cover of Entertainment Weekly with unsavory epithets (that were originally directed towards them) painted on their nude bodies.
Even though they haven't come out with a new album for more than a decade, they have continuously maintained their musical presence. Most you must know how Robison and Maguire worked together and released a new album under the name Court Yard Hounds.
As for Maines, she launched her first solo album, Mother, in 2013. The trio also participated in the world tour alongside the Eagles in 2010. Furthermore, they also launched two other tours of their own in 2013 and 2016.

Swift also featured a photograph of the country band in the music video for her new single "Me!" Expressing the same she told EW, "The Dixie Chicks were making such interesting music and doing it in such an unapologetically feminine, imaginative way."

"I was very inspired by the album Fly and the aesthetics because it was very clear they had really put a lot into the artwork," added Swift. Various sources have been trying to get a comment from the girl band regarding their recent news.
But according to EW, none of the representatives have responded to their request. It could take a long time for the band to release their promised album, however, at least they let their fans know about this future venture.
