A man from Missouri has been accused of beating his girlfriend's five-year-old disabled boy to death while she was in the hospital giving birth, according to PEOPLE. Yoshuah Dallas, 24, has been arrested following the death of Jamarion Delancy. Dallas was allegedly taking care of the boy and his older sister in their St. Louis County apartment, as per Associated Press.  The children were reportedly left in Dallas's care after their mother went into labor on Nov. 17. The next day, Jamarion was brought into St. Louis Children's Hospital in "dire need of medical attention," according to a GoFundMe page started by the St Louis County Police Association.

When Jamarion was brought to the hospital, he was suffering from a "devastating" blunt force trauma and he eventually succumbed to his injuries, as per the police association. Reports suggest that his injuries included a lacerated liver and intestine, a broken rib, and bruising to his face and inside his mouth, which resulted in significant internal bleeding. The GoFundMe page started off with: The St. Louis County Police Association, which represents nearly 900 men and women of the St. Louis County Police Department, is asking for your help on behalf of the family of a 5-year-old special needs child, Jamarion Delancy.

The page then spoke about the incidents that took place after Jamiron's mom went into labor to give birth to her third child. The page then shared: Detectives learned Jamarion had special needs. He was blind and had limited mobility, requiring the use of braces on his legs. Jamarion had no way to defend himself against the suspect’s attack. The suspect was arrested and charged by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $250,000.00 cash-only bond. Jamarion’s death has left an impact on the members of the St. Louis County Police Department and we feel compelled to do more, especially at a time of year when families typically gather and celebrate the holidays.

We feel for Aunyae at this incredibly difficult time where she has to bring a baby home from the hospital, while planning her son’s funeral and also trying to care for Micaiah who was in the apartment when this horrible act occurred – all with extremely limited resources. With the permission of the family, we started this fundraiser to raise money for Jamarion’s funeral expenses, provide essential care products for the baby and give Micaiah a Christmas she will not soon forget. The St. Louis County Police Association is the first to donate, but we pray we will not be the last. Please donate whatever is possible to support Jamarion and his family.

Currently, the GoFundMe has raised $31,000 of its $35,000 goal. Dallas has also been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. It is unclear whether he has an attorney at this time or if he has entered a plea. A woman who donated money via GoFundMe wrote: As a mom to a special needs child, I could not imagine the fear this child had. Someone he was supposed to trust, hurt him and his mom was in the hospital and could not protect him. Prayers to Jamarion, I’m so sorry sweet angel. And prayers to his mom and siblings to get through such an emotional loss.
