Dylan Lenox, from Hubbard, Texas, took to social media to describe the heartwarming bond between all four members of his blended family, and it just so beautiful and touching that you wonder why things were never this amicable before.
Divorces are much more common than we think they are. Sometimes it gets really messy, with people pulling out someone's past to humiliate them and make a scene. Marriages fail, because the love you once thought would last a lifetime isn't there anymore, or because there are a lot of other reasons that just did not work out. This is the story of a young girl with divorced parents, and her mom’s fiance. This situation isn't as uncommon as you think it is.
It is backed by studies that say: Remarriage is on the rise. In 2013, 23% of married people had been married before, compared with just 13% in 1960. Four-in-ten new marriages in 2013 included a spouse who had said “I do” (at least) once before, and in 20% of new marriages, both spouses had been married at least once before. It is really not that uncommon anymore like the stats suggest. But, this may be the first time you see someone so comfortable with their past and their future.
A viral Facebook post has been shared over 136,000 times and liked more than 237,000 times because it describes a beautiful bond that no one thought was possible. Dylan Lenox, from Hubbard, Texas, took to social media to describe the heartwarming bond between all four members of his blended family, and it just so beautiful and touching that you wonder why things were never this amicable before.
Here's the story: Our daughter Willow. You may never know how your love has changed us all. The guy to the left is me (Daddy, Daddy Dylan or Bonus Dad), in the middle is, of course, our Princess Willow and the guy to the right is David (Daddy, Daddy David or biological Dad). No, we are not a same-sex couple, but we do share a daughter. They actually did a full-blown photo shoot with their daughter ad it was as grand as it should have been!
David is Sarah’s ex-husband and I am the Fiancé. We have molded ourselves into one unique family, if only for the sake of our children to know the power of love. Not only did I gain a daughter, but I also gained a brother and a best friend. Thank you, Sarah, for letting this all happen! They are in such a healthy and amicable relationship, something that people surround with a lot of stigmas in an attempt to make it as unacceptable as possible.
When we care more about our children (on both sides of the party) than the way society has taught us to be towards (ex's/baby mommas/daddy's) then walls will fall, life will be free of hatred and remorse, and our children will conquer the foolish "norms" that media has shoved in our faces. He stays at our home when he visits because family is always welcome. He is not an outsider, he is and will always be a part of my life for the simple fact that we share the same daughter!
Of course, not a single moment would be like this without Sarah (mommy) and her kind and generous heart! Willow Grace, you are loved by so many people in this world and your Daddies love you! They also added that David is single, now. Also, Willow Grace, quite literally, has the best of both worlds now. This Is NOT a photo shoot, Sarah is a photographer though. This was taken before a daddy-daughter dance. David took her this year. This was an impromptu photo opp. This is real and this is us.
