Chris Hemsworth To Take A Break From Hollywood To Spend More Time With His Family

Chris revealed that he plans on spending more time in Byron Bay, a coastal town in northern New South Wales, Australia, where his family has been based for five years.

There's no role that Chris Hemsworth can't pull off. Everyone loved him as Thor, even with all the flab and the unkempt look he had going on in Avengers: Endgame. All of it just proves that he's a superhero in real life as well. Last year's been a great one for him, with back-to-back filming. But now, it looks like he's done with the schedule and is in need of a break. After all, all work and no play makes Chris a dull boy! According to Daily Mail, the 35-year-old actor hasn't been able to spend more time with his wife Elsa Pataky, 42, and his three kids, thanks to his busy schedule.

Chris revealed that he plans on spending more time in Byron Bay, a coastal town in northern New South Wales, Australia, where his family has been based for five years ."This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids," he said. "They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before." It is important to raise your kids right.

This is not the first time that Hemsworth has spoken about how difficult he finds it to leave his wife and kids when he has shoots scheduled. In an interview with GQ in 2018, Hemsworth said he'd been home in Byron Bay, Australia, for a few months, but it was time for him to leave again, and his daughter was distraught that he was leaving. “She's normally like, ‘Yeah, see you, Daddy. Cool.’ She was like, ‘Papa! Papa! Papa!’ She doesn't always call me Papa, either.”

Chris was introduced to his wife Elsa by a talent agent named William Ward. They met, and in less than a year. they got married, in 2010. They were initially located in Los Angeles because that's where the movie hub lies, but soon after his kids were born, the family-of-five relocated to Byron Bay in 2014. To make their stay there comfortable, they purchased a $7.2million property in September 2014.

Throughout the Avengers series, Thor has always been this hunky, muscular, hot superhero, but in the last and final installment, he had a makeover. For the first time, a superhero appeared on the big screen with a paunch. “[Thor] definitely ate his way through his emotions, yeah,” he said, laughing as he explained he wore a suit to add on the extra weight. “It was great. It was so much fun. Every time I stepped toward the catering truck, they were like, ‘No, no, no.’”

But, was he treated differently by the people around him? “I got a lot of cuddles. My wife, she’s had three kids, and often the pregnant lady will get their belly rubbed in the supermarket and Robert Downey gave me a fair share of those,” he said. “Everyone wanted to cuddle me. I felt like Santa Claus, you know? Got a few Avengers in my lap from time to time.”

Even though it seemed effortless, it took a lot of work. “Physically, it was a good three hours in hair and makeup,” he continued. “Then the prosthetic suit, particularly for the shirt-off scene, that was a big silicone that weighed about 90 pounds. It was certainly exhausting. I had weights on my hands and ankles just to have my arms and legs swing differently when I shuffled along through the set.”

“People just kept coming up and cuddling me like a big bear or rubbing my belly like I was pregnant,” Hemsworth added. “Or trying to sit on my lap like I was Santa Claus. You get a lot of affection. I felt like an old man, an old grandpa, with a bunch of kids around. He mentioned how his wife kept comparing his belly's to her when she was pregnant.  “And then you get sick of it when people come up and grab your belly,” he said. “‘Don’t grab me like that!’ I know how my wife felt when strangers would come up and rub her belly.”

All said and done, Thor is not ready, not yet, to hang up his cape and let his hammer rest. “I’d still love to do more, to be honest,” he said. “And I don’t know what the plan is. I feel like we’ve opened up such a different character. I feel more energized about the possibility of where it could go. But I’ll use that in other places and other characters if it’s the end here.” Hopefully, he comes back from his break soon to give us more amazing performances!
